For all those complaining that the story is predictable - I agree but I think that when it comes to storytelling of any kind - books, movies, games - it's the journey that's importaint, not the destination. This campaign, didn't have "holy shit" moments, but it still had some memorable cutscenes and that's whats importaint, plus we still have two more campaigns.
@subtlemonk That being said, we're only at the 1/3 point of the story. If there will be a plot twist, it will not come until the end of the next game.

The Kerrigan in Brood War was warped and being control by zerg parasite that was using her as a sort of host. Now that the parasite side of her was obliterated, the 'real' Kerrigan was able to take back control of herself

Since Heart of the Swarm is going to be all about Kerrigan jacking the zerg back, even if for a different purpose, I think it makes more sense for her to look at least partially zergy if she's going to be running. The Xel´Naga created both Zerg and Protoss so they will meet and through them the Xel´Naga could be reborn (yes the Zerg and Protoss are part of the reproduction cycle of the Xel´Naga, but the process isn´t clear), however the Hybrids are not a parat of this cycle, they are completly unatural and controled through the "Dark Voice", who seems to be an enemy of the Xel´Naga, wich may or may not be a fallen Xel´Naga himself.
@LoHye123 Tychus made a deal with Mengsk: his freedom for Raynors' (and eventually) Kerrigans' heads (it's in "The Deal"). He chose his freedom over the right thing and payed with his life for it.

Also seeing how you command zerg units in this, does Kerrigan lead the zerg in service of the terrans or does she go rogue? Or has blizz kept that a secret?

@yisoonshin12 There's no Overmind anymore but Kerrigan and Nova are theoretically the strongest of the ghosts in terms of psionic powers, although Kerrigan is probably stronger. But Kerrigan's also touched the mind of the Overmind and also lead the Zerg. I think that it mentioned in Heart of the Swarm Kerrigan would be the protagonist by "taming" the zerg which I think might be possible since she's so dang strong

Duran is an infested terran just like kerrigan and I know that he is because there is a story about duran in SC1 and he went to kerrigan with only a single battlecruiser, Kerrigan is amused of this and let him in her defenses and then he asked to be infested in order to get more power I think duran did'nt make the hybrids but a terran project or experiment or even making a weapon and I think he meet a Xel'Naga and devoted his life to them by secretly working for them :/

Um, I'm not sure why he was making the hybrids but they certainly did not turn out to be the way the Xel'Naga would have wanted them to be. I'm thinking the Dark Voice (different from the Voice in the Darkness) may have been guiding him... but other than that. The last two sentences are said with uncertainty, but I'm sure of the facts in the first sentence.

this has really changed the story line. since kerrigan maybe still has some control over the zerg and the protoss dont seem to be as much as a threat to terran, no one has any real enemies.
As some other guy wrote - there's a deeper meaning with the pistol - Raynor kept one bullet in his pistol and that was for Archturus however in the moment of Kerrigans rescue he decided to 'give' that bullet to Tychus to save Kerrigan's life.
@lipnoodle117 he was in the starcraft 1 campaign i remember and he was your ally for a while then it turns out he's been like in alliance with the zerg the entire time. I don't think he was infested. I think he chose to be on their side or something. Maybe like kerrigan but more willingly than that. and i truthfully don't remember killing him so he probably is still on the loose.
i think tycheus chose the devils path because he wanted his freedom, i dont think mengsk was able to kill him had he chose the right path, the creators themselves said tycheus was the devil on jim's shoulder

I haven't read any of the books, so I'm not sure if they kept this mission as canon, but given the conclusion of the Wings of Liberty, it looks like they did. If they do it right, I think they will make his reappearance just at the climax of the trilogy in Legacy of the Void. I agree they should and probably will.

@tochbomb1 mmm I would guess/say no...BUT thas what the expansions for!!! lol Im just guessing, dont take my word. Im guessing part 2 is her slowly taking control of the zerg into full control (Heart of the Swarm is the title) as well as some back story (prequel to WoL) of what Kerrigan had done prior to SC2. I dont know the script but I heard that its gonna be a hundred years difference... between this and the next expansion. So by end of the 2nd expansion, most of the characters might be gone

For the record...I personally think guys who carve skulls into faceplates usually look totally retarded (ie Emile from Halo Reach) but Raynor's doesn't look too stupid I suppose and he can actually still shoot with it on while guys like Emile can't shoot for ****

@yisoonshin12 But in Raynor's case: he actually IS awesome and the skull and armor actually make him look cooler because he actually manages to kill crap and even though he drinks, he's not a bad guy. Meanwhile Emile...uh...only killed 2 enemies in Halo Reach...sure that was a pretty epic death but I still don't like him because he epically fails in the actual game and he talks smack all the time (Jerk...)

@yisoonshin12 There's no Overmind anymore but Kerrigan and Nova are theoretically the strongest of the ghosts in terms of psionic powers, although Kerrigan is probably stronger. But Kerrigan's also touched the mind of the Overmind and also lead the Zerg. I think that it mentioned in Heart of the Swarm Kerrigan would be the protagonist by "taming" the zerg which I think might be possible since she's so dang strong

@yisoonshin12 Yeah the zerg style hair only goes well if she's uh...still a zerg. Hopefully it goes back to normal but I suppose she still has a bit of control. Blizzard hasn't made a confirmation but they say that Kerrigan will attempt to "tame" the swarm to combat the hybrids

Duran is an infested terran just like kerrigan and I know that he is because there is a story about duran in SC1 and he went to kerrigan with only a single battlecruiser, Kerrigan is amused of this and let him in her defenses and then he asked to be infested in order to get more power I think duran did'nt make the hybrids but a terran project or experiment or even making a weapon and I think he meet a Xel'Naga and devoted his life to them by secretly working for them :/

@iloveplayingpr Duran is not a Terran. He is not infested, he was just posing as one. He showed up to the UED as a Terran, but he's not. Um, I'm not sure why he was making the hybrids but they certainly did not turn out to be the way the Xel'Naga would have wanted them to be. I'm thinking the Dark Voice (different from the Voice in the Darkness) may have been guiding him... but other than that. The last two sentences are said with uncertainty, but I'm sure of the facts in the first sentence.

He got Infested because he was seeking power so he got infested on purpose :p
He serves the Xel'naga secretly
He is not the Dark Voice :P
And I am not sure if he made the hybrids or not :p
And he has allied him self with the UED to free the Zerg from the UED's control in suspicion and in secret and he is already infested when he allied himself with the UED :p It was planned from the beggining :p

this has really changed the story line. since kerrigan maybe still has some control over the zerg and the protoss dont seem to be as much as a threat to terran, no one has any real enemies.

As some other guy wrote - there's a deeper meaning with the pistol - Raynor kept one bullet in his pistol and that was for Archturus however in the moment of Kerrigans rescue he decided to 'give' that bullet to Tychus to save Kerrigan's life.

@lipnoodle117 he was in the starcraft 1 campaign i remember and he was your ally for a while then it turns out he's been like in alliance with the zerg the entire time. I don't think he was infested. I think he chose to be on their side or something. Maybe like kerrigan but more willingly than that. and i truthfully don't remember killing him so he probably is still on the loose.

i think tycheus chose the devils path because he wanted his freedom, i dont think mengsk was able to kill him had he chose the right path, the creators themselves said tycheus was the devil on jim's shoulder

@nexus1g no, if you get the bonus mission forrr zerg in brood war, he tells you he is neither human or zerg, He played everyone. Then he vanished without a trace, I really hope they bring him back...

@nexus1g search youtube for the brood war seceret mission. You play as zeratul and take down a small dominion outpost on a moon. There, samir reveals himself as...not infested and not human.

@lipnoodle117 Ah yeah, I haven't played that mission since I first played the game back in the 90's. In fact, I didn't even remember Samir being a part of that. Thanks for the info. I haven't read any of the books, so I'm not sure if they kept this mission as canon, but given the conclusion of the Wings of Liberty, it looks like they did. If they do it right, I think they will make his reappearance just at the climax of the trilogy in Legacy of the Void. I agree they should and probably will.

@nexus1g Absolutely. Everyone who ever played Brood War remembers that little revelation. He's the one responsible for creating the Hybrids, so it's guaranteed that he's going to show up for the finale of Heart of the Swarm.
