I like this quick method. I am glad you posted it. I've been having my hair up in a plain pony tail all this time and got bored with it so I went on YouTube to look at other ways. I have tried your method and it works, but I just need to find a hair clip to hold up my thick and heavy med length asian hair. this is an absolutely great hair idea. i just wanted to mention that using elastic bands in your hair causes damage such as breakage and split ends. its better to use ponytails that has the elastic covered.

My hair is like yours, and unfortunately this doesn't work for me. Even the ponytail part doesn't work when I try it how she does it--because of my hair texture, it looks stupid when different pieces are sticking up at different heights. And the clip: forget trying to hide it with straight, very long hair. It doesn't look cute; it makes your "bun" look huge and scary.

This looks cute on her, but isn't for me.There are similar styles that work with our hair type--I bet there's a video out there.
