I agree with most of this documentary excerpt; however, I disagree with the link between Black women and the Feminist Movement ("White Women's Movement"). Historically, Black women have always worked, so there wasn't a real need to fight for equal pay or equal jobs from a gender standpoint--only a racial one. I disagree with any ideology that suggests we (as Black women) stopped fighting for racial equality to concentrate on gender equality. As a side note: I think Dr. Welsing is brilliant.

Secondly, racism in this country both past and present is well understood, but to say (as the gentleman in this video excerpt stated) that Black women put the fight for civil rights (for Black people) on the back burner to devote attention to women's rights is incorrect. Back then there was actually peace and unity amongst black people and we were fighting against white supremacy. I have felt very much like a lone voice in the woods regarding the efeminization of our men and their portrayal in the media, yes with dresses on and the mocking of African womanhood since I notice it in the 80s!
