Sure you can survive more Gs, but you can't sustain them. There's a difference between crashing your car and hitting 10 or so Gs upon impact, and sustaining those 10 Gs for a good 15 to 20 seconds again and again. Plus, pilots take Gs through the Y axis, rather than the X and Z axis you normally feel.
You can experience G's in different ways, from a crash to a very tight car turn and to flying aerobatics. But they are different things because of direction and time wich u are affected. So a human can withstand a lot more very short lasting G's, or longer lasting lateral G's, than it can with positive or negative G's. With this in mind you can basically say people can withstand huge amount of G's, but if we're talking aviatiation an long lasting, from +7 or -2 on, it's quite extreme.
Actually a human can survive a lot more than 25G's for a very short amount of time, like a second or less. However anything above 7 for longer than a few seconds will cause most people to pass out.
Smoke trail (got by burning unpollution vaseline oil in the heat of the engine pipe) is used to give a greater evidence of the aircrafts position and of the performed manoeuvres. 6 gallons of vaseline oil are used for each minute of a produced smoke trail.
To give a even better idea: when you pass at high speed (at least 70 statute mph) on a hump of the street you get 0.08 negative Gs giving you the feeling of being separated by the car's seat and so 6 negative Gs are 700 more than that and 7 negative Gs are 850 harder than that feeling.
Even answering to "terryma1215": negative Gs are even harder to bear than
positive ones. Extreme positive Gs level starts from 7 while 2.5 negative Gs are already a extreme level. Not in the Red Bull Air Race, but in some free program aerobatic flight competitions some pilots can possibly even get 6 or 7 negative Gs.
Yes,positive or negative,it's anyway even a matter of Gs time duration. Under positive Gs blood could leave the brain, while under negative Gs blood could leave legs' lower part.
yea the guy that experienced 178g's was in a race car crash and thats totaly diffrent in a car it effects u from side to side but in a plane it effects u vertically ( Axis ) its one of two either get all of ur insides pushing towards ur brain or the other way around ( negitve Gz and positve Gz ) pilots in fighter jet's or even in the redbull race wear a Advances Tactical Anti-G Suit to handle it... genarly speaking human beings can stand 35-45 G's but it varies depending on wight health ... etc
it gives you an idea of where the plane is and the way is moving and makes it easier to tell the speed, in other words, so you can track the plane better when you see it on your TV
@TheBasketball5135 Well, we can survive more than that, but not without some physical problems. John Stapp survived a peak of 46.2 g, but it resulted in organ damage and vision problems. He lived to the age of 89.
@TheBasketball5135 Yeah you can survive it but when you are sitting in a plane and everythings gettin black for about 10 seconds you cant survive anymore.
@TheBasketball5135 i forgot his name, but this man test the ejection seat and survive a force of 30g :O his eye was like black out, but he was able to see after 24 hours.
omg... im scared to become a pilot now! ): poor heart of those pilots!! youch.. but wait do you have to train for the G's if your becoming an airline pilot?? ppplleeasse tell me you dont!!
pretty sure airline pilots don't do centrifuge training - because you'll already have 1500+ hours flying you would already have experienced more g's than you would experience on an airliner.
Yeah you can die from pullnig too many g's. I guess it's like sufficating. Blood doesn't get to parts of your body and you sufficate and die :)
Ummm.....in a rollercoaster you fly out of your seat. When you pull G's you get pushed back into your seat. It's like an elephant is standing on your chest I hear but airliners don't pull that many g's. Havn't you flown before?
In both scenarios you experience G force. When you"re in a plane and u push the stick away from you, the plane dives, you get negative gs. When you pull the stick towards you and the plane goes up you get positive gs.
People (and planes) have much lower tolerance for negative Gs. Blood rushes to the brain, your vision turns red as the eyes fill with blood and you can"t hold it for long. In positive Gs your brain gets starved of blood as blood goes to feet.
i saw the show and these guys are wonderful. what a fabulous show and they do go high, and low, drops, spins, upsidedown, and the speed is faster then a bolt of lightening. They were wonderful

"Have you no manners or education? And you wouldn't know anything about what my parents are/proud of, of me/what they think of me!

"sukhoi aircrafts pull max 12 g doing cobra at supersonic speeds..."
LOL, "supersonic" speeds eh? What a stupid comment. How old are you, 8?
Let's examine the physics of your ridiculous claim. Supersonic = roughly 350m/s. (760 mph at sea level).
A cobra maneuver is done in about 1 second.
So the deceleration would be about 350m/s/s.
1 G = 9.8m/s/s.
So a supersonic cobra maneuver would have 35 Gs of force.
