A disrespectful and rude political hack that is a disgrace to the House.
Just because Weiner says so doesn't mean he's telling the truth but it looks like too many drink the same Koolaid and worship this guy. He's an angry white man!
Put into power by Wall Street, Unions, Hollywood and Lawyers.
How many of them have read the bill, or even an unbiased synopsis of it, and arrived to that conclusion without the "aid" of political pundits, I wonder...
Votes once at least 50 and then the last vote to kill or take from the vice president. Wich is in the legislative part of the constitution wich republicans never adress because to them the consitution is only one page. Since the bill passed with 51 maybe it is karma for you republitards making that possible to kill bills voted down by the majority when Reagon was president. I remember the 1980's no Reagon was not all that great jobs paid like shit and things where only great with Clinton.
hahahahaahahahha, all these people who criticize didn't even bother to read a basic summary of the bill.
and you see this all the time,
you see people protesting calling Obama a socialist, calling Obama a communist...etc etc yet they these so called true "Americans" don't even know what socialism or communism is. They just say it b/c some other idiot is saying it.
where is the poll that says 70% of america wanted the public option? dear god, the blatant propaganda set forth by fox news.... i kind of feel sorry for fox news followers, but then again they vote for people who will retard the growth of america
I also love how as soon as Weiner starts to talk about the specifics of the bill, Fox brings up its latest "poll numbers" to distract the viewer from what he is saying. It really is despicable.
@mueygringo Good job cheap-shotting his height. I think you'll find that Anthony Weiner is of greater stature than any Fox news presenter. He is calm, reasoned, courteous, intelligent and right. These are rare commodities in Murdoch-land.
@FullersDuck I must agree on some things. He said that Allen Grayson was one fry short of a Happy Meal and he likes Joe Biden's Legs. The Grayson thing he is dead on. The Joe Biden thing I wouldn't agree with. I like women. Other than that he gets caught telling lies more than Billy Clinton.
@mueygringo I have to bow to your greater knowledge, I guess, but from what I've seen he looks like a good guy. I enjoyed watching him school Billo the Clown, and I heard him debate the health care bill on more than one occasion and he seems to have some pretty well-reasoned arguments, especially about the insurance companies' rakeoff. He's done a lot of good things as a NY councilman, too.
And you probably won't agree, but Clinton was one of your better recent presidents. Dubya is a prick.
@FullersDuck Let me give you a bit of knowledge. You list your country as United Kingdom. There was a War of Independence over 200 years ago. Somebody got their ass kicked and the United States became Sovereign. From that day going forward your opinions and leaders opinions mean nothing here.
Then 165 years later a country was about to loose there ass in a war and needed to be bailed out or they would be sprechen sie Duestch. A thank you is in order. You have no valid opinion in US politics
@mueygringo Oh, I see. It's like that, is it. Right. As far as many of us are concerned, the loss of the colony was no great loss. We have greater cause to celebrate the 4th of July than you do. As far as the two major world conflicts were concerned, you were late for both of them. If you'd shouldered your responsibilities as world citizens when you were required to millions of lives would have been saved. As far as opinions on other countries' affairs are concerned, the cables (contd)
@FullersDuck If it weren't for THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA you would be celebrating Hitler's Birthday. You had a Drunken Leader and before that you had Chamberlain, a fool. No wonder Eorope was lost without the USA.
@mueygringo I refer you to my earlier answers, especially the ones about being late for both wars. Are you deaf or just dumb? And don't forget, slick, you're only a couple of generations away from having Spanish as your first language. Hasta l'huego, señor. Viva Mexico!
@mueygringo Funny history books you have in the colonies... The rest of the world doesn't expect you to bail them out - you just think you have a right to march in. You are in Iraq because Bush and Cheney lied to you. Bush wanted to be seen to be doing something after 11/9 so he lied about a link between Al-Qaida and Saddam. The only people benefiting from this war is corporate America. Dollars give your kind a hard-on, don't they? And the welfare queen line was funny but inaccurate :-)
@FullersDuck So how were we late and derelict? Funny ideals you have. Expecting someone else to fight the battle in Europe.
There are no colonies there was an ass kicking of some Red Coated sissies. Then their limp wristed ancestors were getting their asses kicked again by Germany. William Wallace couldn't get the rest of the cowards to join him. As a result you are part of the limp wristers.
You have a great history of failure and have to have some real men fight your battles.
@mueygringo What was that you said about Iraq? Oh, that's right - nothing. Late and derelict about covers it - neat way to phrase it! Derelict because you didn't have the spine to oppose Hitler when he invaded Poland: the war could have been nipped in the bud; and late because you only joined in when some of your boats got sunk. It's interesting to speculate how much sooner you'd have joined WWII if there'd been oil in Poland.
@FullersDuck Why were we required to get involved in WWII. Once again there was no alliance in Europe. If the Europeans created an alliance they would not have had the problems. Each of the European Countries were so afraid of Germany they were trying to sign peace treaties with the Germans. When poland was invaded it was to late. The Pussies could no longer protect their women and children and depended on the USA to save them. So why were we expected to save your sorry asses?

@FullersDuck Still can't accept that ass kicking. When England set out to "explore" the world, was exploration defined as exploitatation and theft of the riches of other cultures. The London Museum has the finest collection of riches pirated from accross the globe. Your history with Scotland and Ireland are shameful we havent even left your borders.
@mueygringo "Exploitatation"?! And yes, the UK has an imperial past, and we got rich off raping other countries. But don't forget how much your economy would have been in the shitter were it not for the slaves you used. Not to mention the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous peoples of North America. OOOOHH, "pay the price at the polls during the mid-terms..." Well, that didn't work out too well for the Republican fraudsters. Personally, I can see the Republicans suffering for all eternity in the inner-most ring of Dante's Inferno. No Republicans, you won't be chasing the phantom banner around Hell's vestibule. Dante has seen where your likely headed. It's a shame too; to have the resources and opportunity to help your countrymen, only to be traitors to your country and to your children.Amen
No facts fox fucks, no problem, just quote polls. This paid model said that republican's have their own ideas, and yet the Weiner tells her that they have not offered "a,b,c" as an alternative. Concludes with saying that they just don't like the bill. Heck of a job kelley, or whatever her name is.
@mexmetal666 With all do respect Mex her name is , Megyen Kelly not the FoxNewsBitch ! . . . You get what i'm saying ? . . . That is if you do Mexmetal666 .
I can't wait to see these clowns (democrats) voted out of the US Congress in November. Good job on your tenacity Megan Kelly in trying to reason with this idiot. Talking to a liberal is like talking to the wall: Reasoning is NOT how they arrive at conclusions regardless of what they claim.
For a non US cityzen this debate about healthcare seems very strange, look at Europe and the life we live. You guy's need to start looking around and se the benefit of these things.
@dasquirrel715 Yes and the insurance industry needs to be roped in. 46-48 million uninsured? That is bad. And Weiner seems to know what he is doing, I would roll the dice with him. This is what I like about him, he will put his neck on the line for the folks like FDR did even if the folks do not see it at first. And also it will take more than one bill to get healthcare taken care right?
all these surveys show is that democrats and progressives in congress haven't done a good job explaining the benefits of this bill to the american people and that people are getting their understanding of this from media that is biased to the money of big insurance and conservatives like the koch family.
This is what the republicans should have done back in 2001-2006. They should have bit the bullet. They should have committed all the troops possible in a long term strategy to get rid of Bin Laden right away and not dropped tax revenue and increase spending during wartime and left ground 0 behind. When we would've caught Osama Bin Laden so quick that our emotions would still have been raw enough for the public to have felt we truly won and therefore reelecting the Republicans for the long term.
The democrats are biting the bullet on this one. They're going for the long term. Sure, they might lose many seats in 2010 for using unconventional parliamentary procedure, but there are enough democrat congressmen and congresswomen willing to bite the bullet and lose reelection for the good long term dominance of the party. If and once Republicans regain power people will have fallen in love with universal health care that the democrats win reelection in 2012 in congress & the white house.
I truely hope they get a good health care bill through congress. The amount of time this has taken has been horrible . I am also glad Mrs. Kelly promotes both sides fairly. Biased bitch.
I don't even see the reason to mention polls, anymore. Polls can be biased, easily; they also don't deal with facts, but, rather, beliefs. It's like saying, "56% believe the health-care bill is too expensive," suddenly makes it too expensive (regardless of how much it costs, the point still stands.) I suppose because only 40% of the U.S. populace believe evolution to be real, it makes it false, since the majority does not.
lets just face the facts the majority of ppl against the bill doesnt even know whats in it ...ofcourse nothing is free and its going to cost lots of cheese to any health reform.. the gop soent want this bill to pass becouse it would benifit the democrats politicaly in the long run that is and they r bent on doing anything and everything in their powers to undermind this administration let aloan a black prsident....
How many of those "majority of Americans" actually read the bill? My guess is barely any of them. It's too late to start over. They've been working on it for over a year, and if they scrap it now, it'll take another year, and by then it'll be dead.
I'm sorry, but people who sit in front of the TV a few hours a night don't know what's going on, and do need it explained to them by the people who have actually been a part of the process of crafting health reform. That's what they are there for.
democrats are losing grounds but republicans must realize that they are not gaining grounds either. people are just pissed off and want congress to DO SOMETHING about health care!!!!
Anthony has don WAY better in other venues. Call her on her lies. The MAJORITY of Americans don't like he bill because it's TOO WEAK. He should have talked about how the vaunted tort reform is .5% of the cost now and highlighted the fact that it IS being proposed but the republicans are just holding it up as their smokescreen. I'm a bit disappointed. I think he lost his footing because she's so pointy and aggressive.
You are right. Since she kept repeating majority does not like the bill, then he should have said that then we should scrap this bill and pass a bill with a strong public option, which the polls show majority supports.
Obama has to make them go through the summit, even though it won't accomplish much, but then again things can happen, such as votes from the North Eastern republicans, and if not, the democrats can say they tried and now vote through Budget Reconciliations.
The bill is scrapped... the people got it. Are you planning on bringing it back from the dead with reconciliation? That's for budgets. This is a brand new bill, and if the Democrats try to pull more shenanigans like reconciliation, that will be the last nail in their coffin for 2010 and 2012 elections. The public has had enough of earmarks and closed door deals.
Your kind of politics, tkovrtwrld, nobody wants. The days of corrupt Democrat control is fast coming to an end.
That is a Constitutional issue. The minority has protections from the majority. That will eventually be overturned by the courts, if the people don't correct it themselves with another law.
Our system is pretty good overall, it is the people that screw it up. The structure could use some changes though. Getting rid of political gerrymandering would be one, public financing of elections would be another, and better matching the number of Senators to a state's population would be cool.
In my mind, there is three different egos that argue with each other about this issue. However, they just did a standing ovation for you Mr. Weiner. Thank you, and I hope you live a political career standing for which is right.
The summit is a joke. The Republicans will never vote for anything vote for anything resembling health care reform. It would be seen as a political victory for Obama, which they feel they must avoid at any cost.
The only two viable options are:
1) Make the Republicans filibuster and expose them as the no idea obstructionists they are
2) Go to reconciliation. That's how Bush shoved through the tax cuts for the super rich.
Anthony is a master of double talk is all he is right about. <--- if you didn't notice, that is double talk, the exact style that Anthony is using constantly. Anthony is constantly putting words in Meghan's mouth, things that are very far from what Meghan is saying.
Anthony jumps from subject to subject like a jumping bean, hoping nobody will notice.... and few commenting here did... anybody want to repeat anything Anthony was saying? No? You don't know either eh....
you can also note, that Anthony avoids answering almost every single question. Meghan was trying to point out that he and the Democrats were losing elections because the people aren't happy but he just runs down his talking points instead of acknowledging the will of the people, even the will of liberals in Massachusetts!!!
Anthony's thinking is exactly what is throwing all the Democrats out of office, and that works for me! Go Anthony go!
I agree. Weiner did a rather transparent job of reframing her questions. It wasn't to his advantage. He does have to say that many Americans don't understand what's in the bill, and he's trying to skip that point. Whose fault is that though? Who needs to be put down? Is it the supporters of the bill that don't get it or is it the people that think its about raising costs rather than helping? People are just wrong. Weiner should just say it.
Americans understand the bill is putting extremely heavy control of their health care into the hands of bureaucrats, and that it is against the Constitution of the United States to do so. The bill greatly restricts the freedom of the individual to quality health care. No... the people get it -- they want freedom to choose their health care, not the government by law controlling what they can and can't have.
Weiner knows this so continually spins this fact as fast as he can.
Seriously? You've bought the whole "government takeover of healthcare" bit? What exactly in either bill tells people who they can and can't go to? Seriously, plz give me some sources to separate the free association anxieties from facts here. I'd like to know.
Well done Anthony. Who was that interviewing you? A non-partisan person like Dana Perino? She stayed more on talking republican talking points than Michael Steele and yet you stopped her each and every time she tried to pull some bs.
I agree that Anthony kicked ass... but as Mehgan kept trying to point out, citizens don't like liberals kicking their asses. It's OUR money, and OUR jobs he's trying to move from public to governmental control.
Looks really handsome here... Looked hot on the Daily show too. For some reason he never looks that good on MSNBC... Too like I dunno, wet or something.
That was just too damn funny to watch . She tried to push every republican talking point that she could and he smacked her down every time . GO ANTHONY !
yup she did an excellent interview because the truth got out. And he hammered every single talking point they had. All in all a good show from anthony

You guy's need to start looking around and se the benefit of these things.
maigeri32 1 year ago
final point was a killer. Republicans had 8 years to make their bill, they don't want ANY health care reform.
dasquirrel715 1 year ago 4
@dasquirrel715 Yes and the insurance industry needs to be roped in. 46-48 million uninsured? That is bad. And Weiner seems to know what he is doing, I would roll the dice with him. This is what I like about him, he will put his neck on the line for the folks like FDR did even if the folks do not see it at first. And also it will take more than one bill to get healthcare taken care right?

all these surveys show is that democrats and progressives in congress haven't done a good job explaining the benefits of this bill to the american people and that people are getting their understanding of this from media that is biased to the money of big insurance and conservatives like the koch family.
mwells219 1 year ago
This is what the republicans should have done back in 2001-2006. They should have bit the bullet. They should have committed all the troops possible in a long term strategy to get rid of Bin Laden right away and not dropped tax revenue and increase spending during wartime and left ground 0 behind. When we would've caught Osama Bin Laden so quick that our emotions would still have been raw enough for the public to have felt we truly won and therefore reelecting the Republicans for the long term.
Unclesamslair 1 year ago
The democrats are biting the bullet on this one. They're going for the long term. Sure, they might lose many seats in 2010 for using unconventional parliamentary procedure, but there are enough democrat congressmen and congresswomen willing to bite the bullet and lose reelection for the good long term dominance of the party. If and once Republicans regain power people will have fallen in love with universal health care that the democrats win reelection in 2012 in congress & the white house.
Unclesamslair 1 year ago 3
I truely hope they get a good health care bill through congress. The amount of time this has taken has been horrible . I am also glad Mrs. Kelly promotes both sides fairly. Biased bitch.
Ladiestreat 2 years ago
I don't even see the reason to mention polls, anymore. Polls can be biased, easily; they also don't deal with facts, but, rather, beliefs. It's like saying, "56% believe the health-care bill is too expensive," suddenly makes it too expensive (regardless of how much it costs, the point still stands.) I suppose because only 40% of the U.S. populace believe evolution to be real, it makes it false, since the majority does not.

ahabthewhaler 2 years ago
How many of those "majority of Americans" actually read the bill? My guess is barely any of them. It's too late to start over. They've been working on it for over a year, and if they scrap it now, it'll take another year, and by then it'll be dead.
I'm sorry, but people who sit in front of the TV a few hours a night don't know what's going on, and do need it explained to them by the people who have actually been a part of the process of crafting health reform. That's what they are there for.

SquallCloud 2 years ago 3
You are right. Since she kept repeating majority does not like the bill, then he should have said that then we should scrap this bill and pass a bill with a strong public option, which the polls show majority supports.

Obama has to make them go through the summit, even though it won't accomplish much, but then again things can happen, such as votes from the North Eastern republicans, and if not, the democrats can say they tried and now vote through Budget Reconciliations.
shushugah 2 years ago
@tkovrtwrld

Melpheos1er 2 years ago 2
yeah just like how prop. 8 passed with a 52% majority votes. great concept right?
kazin0268 2 years ago 3
That is a Constitutional issue. The minority has protections from the majority. That will eventually be overturned by the courts, if the people don't correct it themselves with another law.
Our system is pretty good overall, it is the people that screw it up. The structure could use some changes though. Getting rid of political gerrymandering would be one, public financing of elections would be another, and better matching the number of Senators to a state's population would be cool.
HungryNomadicLion 2 years ago
In my mind, there is three different egos that argue with each other about this issue. However, they just did a standing ovation for you Mr. Weiner. Thank you, and I hope you live a political career standing for which is right.
json1 2 years ago
The summit is a joke. The Republicans will never vote for anything vote for anything resembling health care reform. It would be seen as a political victory for Obama, which they feel they must avoid at any cost.
The only two viable options are:
1) Make the Republicans filibuster and expose them as the no idea obstructionists they are
2) Go to reconciliation. That's how Bush shoved through the tax cuts for the super rich.
Bipartisan cooperation? Yeah. Right.

Weiner 2012
treid100182 2 years ago 5
Anthony is a master of double talk is all he is right about. <--- if you didn't notice, that is double talk, the exact style that Anthony is using constantly. Anthony is constantly putting words in Meghan's mouth, things that are very far from what Meghan is saying.
Anthony jumps from subject to subject like a jumping bean, hoping nobody will notice.... and few commenting here did... anybody want to repeat anything Anthony was saying? No? You don't know either eh....
raymundogard 2 years ago
you can also note, that Anthony avoids answering almost every single question.
Go Anthony go!
raymundogard 2 years ago
Weiner should just say it.
tkovrtwrld 2 years ago
@tkovrtwrld
Weiner knows this so continually spins this fact as fast as he can.
raymundogard 2 years ago
Seriously? You've bought the whole "government takeover of healthcare" bit? What exactly in either bill tells people who they can and can't go to? Seriously, plz give me some sources to separate the free association anxieties from facts here. I'd like to know.
tkovrtwrld 2 years ago 3
Well done Anthony. Who was that interviewing you? A non-partisan person like Dana Perino? She stayed more on talking republican talking points than Michael Steele and yet you stopped her each and every time she tried to pull some bs.
ChrisTheTruckDriver 2 years ago 2
@3star2nr
I agree that Anthony kicked ass... but as Mehgan kept trying to point out, citizens don't like liberals kicking their asses. It's OUR money, and OUR jobs he's trying to move from public to governmental control.
