I agree. Joe Johns is dispassionate and fair. This was what journalism was like in previous times. It was a craft. This is one of his better interviews.
I am impressed how they live their private life and ignore that storm that rages around them. One can disagree with their politics and still admire how they avoid showing any bitterness. Michelle Obama is a gracious woman. Here vacation in Spain is her own business. Putting the kids ahead of power is actually refreshing.
First Lady Michelle Obama is as graceful and charming and intelligent as Jackie Kennedy. And as parents, I would have to admit, the Obvamas are the best we have seen.
It seems as if the families of presidents are closer during the White House years but yet emotionally distant since they are so busy and their lives so full. Quite a challenge for parents and children alike. One can appreciate why so many of the kids struggle later and also, why so many achieve so much.
Well, Christmas stress? Yep, then they are like the rest of us. I still think they must have a ball, especially at Camp David, and no matter what happens, scandal, war, low approval ratings. They still have those moments.
I always enjoy hearing Doug Wead speak on the subject of U.S. presidents and their families. His books on the subject are must reads! Thanks for this posting.

Good advice, Doug. Keep the kids as normal as possible, as long as possible.
