Has anyone notices the many animation errors in this scene? To start, at 1:09, you will notice Karen's reflection never moves, and to top that off, in that scene, we see Frosty's hat and pipe on the ground. However, at 2:11, the hat is gone and the button nose, which wasn't there before, is now in the hats place. Finally, at 2:49, we Frosty's broom fly out of the greenhouse, even though he never had it when he went in. WTF?? haha still a classic though.
I just looked up "zillion" on Wikipedia; apparently it's just a major exaggeration for an inestimably huge number. Even for a cartoon character, I doubt it's possible to write the same sentence THAT MANY TIMES.
I like how this movie teaches a lesson about adults having a tendency to be pretentious, especially towards kids, as well as greedy and unaware of consequences of their actions on children. One of my favorite Christmas movies ever :)
@the1nonly2010 That's a flaw I often wondered about myself.
It may have just been to make it easy for the people animating the show. (Making the transition from Karen waving goodbye, to Santa and Frosty flying away.)
Granted Santa probably shouldn't have left a little girl on top of her roof. But it probably gave the people who drew the animation a break.
@The4everSimpsons Did he? The magician only went to do the writing so he could get presents! He whined about getting a punishment he deserved, and even says evil people deserve sympathy. I could say more, but I think you get my view; I see him as a selfish unrepentant scum!
LOL i member every time me and my cousin watched this, i would crack up when the magician kept saying i got to get busy writing busy busy busy and my cousin would repeat him
3:28.... the magician cries like the Cowardly Lion. Dunno about you guys, but I sure wouldn't write a hundred zillion sentences in the hopes that ***maybe*** Santa Claus will bring me a new hat. Heck, I'd just go buy one. 4:38, how's the kid gonna get off the roof??
Hocus was real hero in this classic. He got the hat back, he talked to the Forrest animals for Karen, waited and brought back Santa. W/o hocus frosty and Karen would'a been done for. 3 cheers for the rabbit!
the narrator sounds like Chris "Boomer" Berman & 3 minute drill lol how "about them Cowboys" is what Im waiting for him to say... great memories of this show thanks for posting Merry Xmas to all!
Thank you very much for posting this special Christmas classic! However, I would really appreciate it if you could clean up the editing a bit so the movie would be more streamlined. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!!!
Actually, if you think about it this could kind of be like a horror movie if frosty's "death" was in there, with him screaming, "I'm melting, I'm melting!!" while Karen watches, unable to help as her friend crumbles away. Ick!
Man... Karen went through the ringer in this cartoon. She was a real trooper, considering that all her friends left her to suffer in the cold as a hobo on a train presumably to the other side of the world while they go back home and drink cocoa. What kind of friends are these, anyway? Who lets their grammar school classmate roam the Artic alone at night with no money completely unsupervised with a strange, adult mythological being?
And what kind of kid yells out "OATMEAL?!!" Gah... -_- (j/k)
In the Handbook of Christian Feasts and Customs, author Francis Weiser traces the origin of Santa to Thor: "Behind the name Santa Claus actually stands the figure of the pagan Germanic god Thor."
Here, [Thor] then, is the true origin of our "Santa Claus." . . . With the Christian saint whose name he still bears, however, this Santa Claus has really nothing to do.
I don't understand why Karen didn't smash the windows in the greenhouse so that the cold air could enter it and Frosty wouldn't melt. Instead, she folded under pressure like a cheap suit.

When I was probably 4-5 years old, my mother tells me when frosty melted in the hot house I burst into tears. When the little girl cried I cried even harder. It was my first introduction into somebody (even an animated character) possibly dying and not coming back. Even after he came back to life again, it took me awhile to compose myself. Awww....poor kid! I'm better now. :)
