@wyo550 Before I did the RDT&E of the first tuned exhaust system for a 550 (Hyper Flow) I'd taken my550 with stock exhaust to 195mph...uphill...at 7,200 feet altitude. No faster because I needed the hill to slow down when I took my foot off it. The real fun in the 550 is dominating the entry to traffic from an on-ramp. But for REAL control and flat-out speed, nothing beats the 911 Turbo S I'm receiving the summer of 2010. The 550 will cut an hr off 400 mile drive. The 911 cuts seconds ALL/time

nowadays its pretty easy to break 200mp/h even with a V6 with 350hp..200mp/h was the shit in the end of the 80s and early 90s..today we have to look at speeds at above 250mp/h..for us to get impressed today we need a car that goes 280-300+mp/h..i mean look at Lamborghini they make speeds at 218-220mp/h with only 670hp and no turbo chargers..put quad turbo on a Lambo at 1100hp...good bye veyron good bye..

Actually it's a 5.5 Ltr V12 but still a big difference with the Veyron. Imo the Veyron is ugly and it must drive like a brick in corners.

It had the highest top speed of any street legal car between 2005 - 2007, also the quickest 0 - 60mph if you don't count Red Victor 1. Ferrari 550 Maranello, 0-300kph in 61.2 seconds. Veyron, 0 -300kph in 16.7 seconds and 0-400kph in 50 seconds. Yeah... it's not fast at all. The design of the car and the technology built into it means it definitely is special.

There needs to be specially marked sections of highway where you can safely go very fast if you have a racing license and a car designed to safely go very fast. Governments could charge for this privilege. It's a win-win sin.
