I used to support the police in general. In the last 5 years several people, and myself included, were violently attacked by several different departments in our area. It took all of 4 years to resolve the issue and prove our innocents, at a cost of several hundred thousand dollars. In the end there was no reimbursment to us and no disciplinary action was taken against any law enforcement officer by the state nor county. The police are, for the most part, above the law and they know it.

@LostMYmind904 In some states, there is a "stop and ID" statute. If you are in one of those states, then most likely yes - you would be required to give them ID. Verbal ID is satisfactory - just say your name, address, and date of birth. You don't have to provide physical ID such as a license.
If you are not in a stop and ID state, you do not have to provide any ID whatsoever unless you are being arrested, in which case you have to give the same information as above.
The problem with police activities is that they have no checks and balances while they are out in the streets! @weedheader714420: Street level officer's in the Denver metro area usually top out at just over $70K per year. Command staff is $90-$100-ish. How is that chump change. Cops in good Colorado PD's can make more money than engineers. I know because most my buddies are engineers. Don't confuse a metropolitain area with some back woods podunk. One of my Sgt's is a PhD.

Police are there to help you (yes there are a few idiot cops) but not counting them, answer the questions UNLESS you have something to hide. On a more important note, having a PomCam (vehicle camera system) is perfectly legal is all states. The catch is, what you use the recording for. Any attorney worth their salt will tell you that you can use your video in court TO DEFEND yourself and you do not need permission form anyone. Check out PomCam.com and you will see

The sheriffs in my town pull people over for driving on roads they deem are suspicious late at night and they always say the person drove over the yellow line in order to pull them over. An off duty cop happened to get a call that my friend drove by them fast right by his house. He called my friend while he was off duty and told him he was giving him a verbal warning. How many shows on TV relate to the US Justice System and they always give the point of view from the State. And sure, there are some shitty cops out there I will agree with the cop haters at least on that respect. But for about 14yrs solid I did lots of crazy fucked up shit to get me in a lot of trouble, and the cops I had to deal from that about 95% of the time were actually nice about it...a handful of times they were almost too nice by not throwing me in jail.

Every instance is a trespass on God's foot (essentially) and is basis for challenge. Every time you are pulled over, you are ARRESTED (Black's Law Dictionary, 6th Edition). No warrant = UNLAWFUL. If a crime is committed, that person is "detained" and not arrested while the officer either issues a "citation" or decides to "not" issue a citation for the violation committed.

After a day of harassment, refusing not to answer questions, being told there was video evidence of the crime, but not allowed to see it, the accuser found the misplaced money in another drawer. Had she said she was there or saw the money, boom arrest. The video evidence was a complete lie, either by the cop or the store.

I used to support the police in general. In the last 5 years several people, and myself included, were violently attacked by several different departments in our area. It took all of 4 years to resolve the issue and prove our innocents, at a cost of several hundred thousand dollars. In the end there was no reimbursment to us and no disciplinary action was taken against any law enforcement officer by the state nor county. The police are, for the most part, above the law and they know it.

@LostMYmind904 In some states, there is a "stop and ID" statute. If you are in one of those states, then most likely yes - you would be required to give them ID. Verbal ID is satisfactory - just say your name, address, and date of birth. You don't have to provide physical ID such as a license.
If you are not in a stop and ID state, you do not have to provide any ID whatsoever unless you are being arrested, in which case you have to give the same information as above.

Police are there to help you (yes there are a few idiot cops) but not counting them, answer the questions UNLESS you have something to hide. On a more important note, having a PomCam (vehicle camera system) is perfectly legal is all states. The catch is, what you use the recording for. Any attorney worth their salt will tell you that you can use your video in court TO DEFEND yourself and you do not need permission form anyone. Check out PomCam.com and you will see

The sheriffs in my town pull people over for driving on roads they deem are suspicious late at night and they always say the person drove over the yellow line in order to pull them over. An off duty cop happened to get a call that my friend drove by them fast right by his house. He called my friend while he was off duty and told him he was giving him a verbal warning. My other friend was drug searched by a dog for nothing

What I find so funny is that we have all these TV shows that glorify the justice system and cops. Think about it? How many shows on TV relate to the US Justice System and they always give the point of view from the State. I would like to see a TV show were citizen’s stand up to the police and a show which educates citizens of their rights. Cops are nothing but liars, the Supreme Court gave them the right to be just that.

But for about 14yrs solid I did lots of crazy fucked up shit to get me in a lot of trouble, and the cops I had to deal from that about 95% of the time were actually nice about it...a handful of times they were almost too nice by not throwing me in jail.

What youve just said sums things up nicely, about 95% of the cops you dealt with were decent in their dealings with you. Fairly high percentage, isnt it. Now if you take the remaining 5% and realise a portion of them may have wrongfully allowed other issues they were having to affect their dealing with you, then you soon realise that the bad ones are a minority. cheers

Simple statement to cop: I have reserved all my inalienable rights without prejudice and stand on Common Law in Common Law Jurisdiction. From what Ive seen 99.9 % of the time, the people that are anti-cops normally have something to hide ie. pot smokers, drug users, etc. If you have nothing to hide, then showing a cop your id or answering a few questions isnt a big deal at all, and in a few minutes you both go on your way. Its not just an issue of rights, or cops abusing power. There are certain people out there like the ones in this video, that are against cops it seems. They dont understand that not every cop is evil lol.

@CWBou812 If you look at the CONSTITUTION and your INALIENABLE rights, as enumerated in the Constitution and VERIFIED in supreme court rulings, you will note that police officers HABITUALLY trespass on your rights as a sovereign god-created being. Every instance is a trespass on God's foot (essentially) and is basis for challenge. Every time you are pulled over, you are ARRESTED (Black's Law Dictionary, 6th Edition). No warrant = UNLAWFUL. Learn your rights.

@rotnflesh Actually, this is incorrect. Police do NOT trespass on the rights of the people when they are pulled over. In order to be pulled over, a crime has to be committed. If a crime is committed, that person is "detained" and not arrested while the officer either issues a "citation" or decides to "not" issue a citation for the violation committed.
Yes, learn your rights. But also learn your rights from someone who knows what they're talking about.

Cops trespass on the rights of citizens routinely, and that is the reason for videos like this. Cops lie and break the rules so much it's status quo. Cops are no longer peace officers. Nowadays cops represent private interests compelled by greed and corruption. A cop's job is to arrest as many people as possible to make money for his/her jurisdiction, end of story.

@CWBou812 True, but even good cops make mistakes. I know someone who was threatened with an arrest because someone accused her of taking an envelope full of money off a desk. After a day of harassment, refusing not to answer questions, being told there was video evidence of the crime, but not allowed to see it, the accuser found the misplaced money in another drawer. Had she said she was there or saw the money, boom arrest. The video evidence was a complete lie, either by the cop or the store.
