  • grandiose display of ignorance really. A individual's natural cognitive disipline must not be confused with the latter or one will have unlimited power if mastered inproperly.....Confucius

  • Sooo... how is this testing the Hawthorne Effect???????

  • @NalgasCQ Because it is about people knowing that they are being observed, this video is proving that when people are aware that they are being observed they change their behaviour.

  • you should have had 4 people with a sign each on every corner, i bet most people didnt read or even realize your sign was there, good study anyway

  • @Fuuast2009 first, i counted the number of people jaywalking and then, i proceeded to hold up the sign that said "sociological research on jaywalking" and the number of people that jaywalked decreased considerably. but then again, there are many variables that i didn't take into consideration.

  • if you want to eradicate as many flaws as possible, do it for a few days straight at different intersections, all at the same time, and dedicate 2 random days (not in succession to each other) to each intersection... increase the time to about 15 minutes, and avoid fridays saturdays and sundays... the truth is, with one instance, 5 minutes really isn't a very big base to draw a conclusion, it does however provide for an adequate hypothesis...

  • thanks for the video! but your audio is too loud :/

  • interesting research on hawthorne's effect
