@KushAddiction420 WAY ahead of ya good buddy. I cover that move in my 'Basic Buzzsaw Tutorial.' It's an antispin butterfly buzzsaw. There is also a variant that does it in a wallplane rather than utilizing the buzzsaw planes (minor difference visually but buzzsaw is more complicated IMO) which is called a split-time antispin butterfly wallplane flower (mouth-full, I know). I have a tutorial for that as well. If you can't find them in my videos, hit me up and I'll send you links.
@KushAddiction420 Oops...that should have said 'antispin butterfly buzzsaw FOUNTAIN' instead of antispin butterfly buzzaw. Forgot the fountain part. I actually kinda botched it in this video as it is pretty old. When you really get the timing and hand positioning right it looks really cool.
Honestly, my flowlights are WAY old....the original model, actually! The ones featured in the video are fire and water....I have no clue how the luck lights perform.
Yeah, it really has come a long way, huh? Even in the past 5 years it has been quickly revolutionized. I definitely have noticed that there were a lot of moves used frequently now that did NOT exist (or more correctly, hadn't been discovered or weren't widely used) when I started spinning. The internet is a wonderful tool for the world of poi!
wow so let me start by saying that was awesome. some of those moves i cant even comprehend. that being said i was just wondering if wraps just arent your style or if its just because you are using the flowtoys?
Well, kinda both. Doing wraps with flowpoi duos just doesn't work so well. Too much weight and they're too long. It can be done, but is hard on them, doesn't look that good and is difficult to pull off smoothly. Beyond that, my poi style never uses wraps....I find many people use WAY too many wraps and it becomes very tasteless, IMO. Spinning moves require more skill and have a better effect (again, in my opinion). I do plenty of wraps with glowsticks, but never limit myself to them.
Um.....sorry to disappoint, but I actually don't know the name of the song. It's off a mix CD a local DJ gave me at a party. Wish I had more info to give you, but that's all I know.
dude your krossers are INTENSE! but i thnk your stalls are kinda choppy and could be a lot better. but as far as technicality goes, you're fairly on point. good vid. nice flow poi
Yeah, to be honest, I don't really practice with the flowtoys. I use much heavier poi in practicing, so I'm not always used to the different weight for stalls and such. Thanks for the comment!
Um...not really sure it has a name. It's a butterfly with alternating lock-outs. You go from a forward butterfly and take one hand out and do a spin behind on the opposite side (with the hand below the other). Then switch positions so the hand in front is on the opposite side's behind you and the hand that was behind is in front again. I like to add in a slight isolation to it to make it look smoother, as well.
hi there! Nice Vid!! What color combo are you using for your flow poi? is it water & earth?? Im dying to get some of those babies! kinda expensive...Sweet tho!! thanx!
badass color combination!

LOL...I just watched this again for the hell of it and it's SOOOOO sloppy and old. This video was made in May 2008. I really should make a new one.
Thanks for the kind words and if you have questions about any of the moves in the video (or any of my videos) I'll do my best to help you out!

They're water and fire....I like them a lot. Pretty durable and they have nice color/pattern options.

awesome stuff man.. i love the stuff at about 2:30 to 3.
did you keep hitting things around you? there were alota clanking.
i was reminded of mario kart a lot thru out the vid. tracks like waluigis pinball and various rainbow roads.
Anifanatic10 3 years ago
Yeah, I was hitting things. Mostly my ceiling cause it's right above my head...very low....and doing full arm extensions doesn't really work.
2:30-3 mins are buzzsaw flowers...lots of fun!
Rainbow road....LOL.
