  • PRETTY LITTLE BABY ON THA CABIN FLOOR

  • Johnny owns lots of songs. Doc owns this one.

  • Comment removed

  • Johnny does it well, but I'm going to have to say Doc Watson will always own this song for my money.

  • @lastchip Doc is good but I think Cash was the greatest Country singer of all times.

  • @lastchip I cant make up my mind. This song lends itself to anyone with talent. I like everyone i have ever heard do this song. Eddy arnold, doc watson, johnny cash, porter waggoner etc. i just think the song is bigger than any single talent.

  • This song will always remind me of getting sandwiches with my dad at a scruffy deli in Providence.

  • Geoff's?

  • Maybe--on Thayer near the Brown campus?

  • Sounds like it, although Thayer's a little different these days. Good old Providence.

  • This is a Doc Watson song.....

  • @BCopperfield

Actually this song was written by Jimmie Driftwood.

  • @MinglewoodMan Nobody plays it like Doc, even Jimmie, Minglewood was writtten by either Rev Gary Davis or Robert Johnson, depending on who you believe. But people now recognize it as a Hot Tuna/Jorma Kaukonen or grateful dead. Hoyt Axton Credited cocaine as a traditional New Orleans song. Jackson Browne credited it (I believe correctly) as Rev Gary Davis. but BCopperfield is right, in any way that really matters This is Doc's like Reznor's Hurt belongs to Johnny Cash forever

  • stunning modern poetry

  • Oh when he mentions the gambler who knew he was talking about Kenny Rogers, haha!

  • Cash is the man, he looks fucked up on something but that is a true outlaw right there!!

  • Johnny was the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Studley song

  • LOVE THAT GUITAR too bad its worth 4,399 to buy

  • Awesome video... my favorite Cash song!!! Thanks for sharing.... Peace, George

  • Sing it Johnny! It is amazing how he plays that good with no pick. A great American if there ever was one!!

  • @Stan1208 Another amazing thing is that he is so humble... he claims to be very "bad" at the guitar... but I actually find his acoustic albums to be some of his best. I think he can play very well

  • This song and this music will live on forever. What a beatuiful song and great guitar playing, simply amazing. Thanks Johnny Cash.

  • Never seen this cash video before.. nice!
