I've performed this one for years and am watching lots of other people in preparation for a show we are doing in 11 days. I am also doing a straitjacket escape. Your performance was the best one I have seen so far. If I may suggest, hold the chains on one side and hand them the other chains and ask them to pull. Then switch so they get a chance to touch both sets of chains but they don't get the opportunity to slide them around. Most people probably don't get it but some might get a clue.
That's what's so funny. People get so nervous and caught up in making sure they do exactly what I ask them to do, they really don't realize what's going on. I've been performing this trick for years. It pretty much gets em every time. A lot of fun to watch. This was a small audience, but the larger the crowd, the funnier the trick because the volunteer is even more focused on making sure they follow all of my instructions carefully.
@AtoSVK no... you would never, ever, ever, ever notice. I do a comedy escape in Las Vegas on a nightly basis.... and nobody has yet to have noticed. It's easier to see it when you aren't the one on stage.
That was VERY funny! I think if Howie Mandel and the Amazing Jonathan had a child together, then that child would likely beat up Avi in recess, but then teach him magic after feeling guilty about it.
