Japanese car makers have been building high performance car with six cyl engines for decades, finally an American car company builds a reasonable v6 , not the anemic 2.8 v6 in the old camaros, same useless "powerplant" used in everything from cutlass cieras to Chevrolet cavalier, those were sad chapters in GM story.

Ok, I agree it doesn't sound like a traditional V8 with a deep rumble, but I think high powered V6 engines are going to become the "New Age" muscle cars. If gas continues to spike up we'll have no other choice.

@ringnjc V6 or V8, I personally love the sound that this, the Genesis, Z cars, and other modern V6's make.. V8s sound the same, big loud and rumbly, this is "different" and a lot more sporty sounding.

And as for the new Camaro, that thing is a beast! I know it has something like 308hp but what is the torque? Any gains from the exhaust? Throw some headers on there that would make that thing a BEAST. But if its the daily driver I doubt you want it TOO obnoxious. Good choice of vehicles though bro, I'm working my away up. How much was a base model V6 starting at?

I think the torque is around 275. I am supposed to have it dyno'd on Tuesday so we'll see how the actual numbers come out.

still sounds a little ricey, but im sure it will sound pretty damn good in person once you break it in, ive got a v6 stang with magnaflows on it and once i put a few thousand miles on it, it sounded much deeper
