@jtinglorius I used tan yarn attached from the ceiling. Ran it down the length of the stalk and tied it to the bottom. A few clear nylon zipties were used to hold it down the lenght of the stalk. The stalks could be "pushed" out of the way with no damage.
@chaisingjordan Not really. Lick your fingers and touch both terminals of a car battery. Nothing happens. Why? Too much resistance in the body. This is the same method used by professional haunts across the country. Not dangerous at all, but a really cool effect!
@chaisingjordan Not so, very safe. You can touch both terminals of a car battery and nothing will happen. The body has too much resistance. Thanks for the concern though! :)
@HalloweenHellmouth thanks my friends and I r having our ow haunted house we're not charging anything its just for fun we want to up our effects so thanks
@vaporizethis One lead to the fence, the other to the glove. Weave pipe or rebar through the links in the fence in the top or the bottom to make sure the whole fence has continuity.
@amazinggirls4life You should subscribe and start watching the daily vlogs! :) Lots of ideas, and the BEST haunted house I've done so far! Thanks for watchin!
@R3DBrass Check the daily vlogs over the next week or so. I'll be making repairs to the fence and will explain how it works. Thanks for the comment! ;)
@ThemeParkScareNews Basically, just start talking to store managers about it. My haunt is free, but I request a food donation for the local food bank [Northwest Harvest], which is the "selling" point.
@drummaster2001 Thanks! All of the stalks in the center were hung from the ceiling, so that the stalks could be "pushed" out of the way. Less damage that way! :)
@gr33nb3an03 I got the corn stalks from a friends garden. If you get them fresh, dry them by hanging them upside down. Make sure you do this outside, because they do attract MAJOR fruit flies! A can of Raid is your best friend. ;)
@gr33nb3an03 If you take a look at my "Channel" on here, the site is listed. For some reason it won't let me list it in these comments but I'll try! :) HalloweenHellmouth (dot) com Happy Haunting!
@trips48 Wow. This would be a very long answer! I'm not sure how many pictures that I took of the construction, but I might put a "How To" on the website. Keep checkin' the website in the next couple of weeks.
@trips48 Take a look at the website; There are pictures of the carport construction. Basic materials were aluminized exhaust tubing, black contractors plastic (6 mil), and LOTS of welding! :)
Using a chain-link fence from scrap, I soldered every-other link with wire together at the bottom. I found a "reproduction" glove from the Halloween Superstore. Hooked it to the positive of 2 car batteries ran in series, and the negative to the fence! Thanks for the comment! :)

@SargentAveryJohnson Safety is always a major concern. There were guide ropes that, in case it broke, it would still not travel any further. :)

how expensive was it to make this?
TheCamdroid 4 months ago
@TheCamdroid I didn't tally cost of individual props that year. I would estimate around $100 for everything.

I would love to know how to make the falling wall seems like a great prop.

That's dangerous to have electricity running through that fence what happens when some kid touches it?
