Too bad none of you got to experience Mr. Norris. He was a gifted director. While he wasn't big on marching season, at least he made us sound great! Also the count was probably highest while I was there. He left after my class graduated and the count has gone down ever since. Coincidence? I don't think so!
...then why did he kick more than half the members out? (Supposedly, low band count was the reason Mr. Strandberg was terminated). I think the previous principle and perhaps some of the other administration, disagreed with Mr. Strandberg's policies and got rid of him on his way out. Mr. T was one of the best and most dedicated band directors and did a wonderful job with the younger students. He was the reason my son joined and why he is majoring in music. Its sad...more are leaving...TBC
I hated to see Mr. Stranberg leave. He was one of the best band directors of all time...honestly. MWHS ran someone very special off due to political issues...then replaced him with a man that has worked 5 different jobs in less than 10 years...I wouldn't hire someone with that kind of work history at McDonald's! He came in with the attitude that he was replacing someone who was inept...changed everything and squashed those that refused to accept him immediately. If band count was important...
but on the whole i loved this video, thank you fernando for being our drum major for this year, however crappy the new band director may be. i also want to add "Long Live Strandberg!!!" we will love him always
im a part of this band(section leader of the tuba section, im the one on the far left at the beginning of this video) the dumbass band director kicked out all of the seniors for doing the senior salute a many year ram band tradition for the last game of the season,just for doing the salute, nothing more. The following monday after this game we had a "lecture" from the director about leadership and during that the seniors got kicked out of the band, i only say this because i think it was stupid..
