Interesting composition, I am not personally big fan of sampling, but I admit that FORMS of it has been around for a very long time. Gounod ''sampled'' or superimposed whole Bach's prelude. Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky Chopin used other composers melodies or even whole parts of compositions for their variations. Question really is does the composer abuse other people's music (like make only minor alterations and abuse originals popularity) or make something new and give credits.

Dudes need to get over whether or not something is "sampled" or "original". What you have to understand is nothings new under the sun and every idea is borrowed from another. Just listen to how much music sounds similar to each other in different eras whether it be now or 50 yrs ago. You don't think artist back then expanded on, reused, and recreated songs they heard? Hell the Beatles admitted to lifting riffs off local band lol. I say all that to say just enjoy the music. Good beat homie!

Oh shutup, that's absolute crap. There are people who create beats from scratch, and there are people who aren't talented enough to do that, so they look for songs to sample. It's THAT simple. Stop making excuses for lazy, untalented samplers.

I just don't think you sit anyone down in front of a pile of records and watch them make the same things that J.Dilla, Pete Rock, or Preemo could do. Sure there are different skill levels when you compare some one trained to someone who's not but that still doesn't change the fact you have to have an ear for music to be able to layer sounds or chop samples to make something new.

I used to respect Timbaland too but I still respect him for his drumbeats. He steals tunes because he's not musically talented, but he's rhythmically talented, and all the drumbeats on his instrumentals are created by him. It's just the tunes and melodies that he has trouble coming up with, so he samples that.
