I was baptized on Easter back in the late '60s, so tomorrow I'm a-gonna go outside my comfort zone and attend a local church basically to just thank the Good Lord for doing what He did. Don't like singing around others ... and I worry that my breath will stink and that people won't like my face but, nevertheless, a sinner like me needs to do this anyway.

He indeed died as our passover lamb on Friday. Rose on Sunday, the 1st day of the week (Matt 28:1). We commemorate them both with communion/Lords' Supper.

But I agree that it is important to worship Jesus, the Son of God, rather than traditions.

He kept god "laws" It was the little horn in Daniel that changed the Lords day to Sunday and leaned on "commandment keepers". The deciples were Sabbath keepers and taught the gentiles to keep the Sabbath.

"Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" was written by Charles Wesley in 1739. Both convey the message well, of course.
