The analogy between saying "it's so gay" and "it's so girl wearing a skirt as a top" is faulty. "Gay" is a one-syllable word, for better or worse easily understood. "Girl wearing a skirt as a top" is an eight-syllable clause--very awkward & difficult to understand. The ad is . . . well, gay (a failure, if you prefer).

Being told not to use "gay" when I mean "stupid" by an actress who's appeared in some cheesy teen flicks is likely to encourage me to use it all the more--or would if I were in the intended audience.

The video (regardless of what you think of its quality) has an important message: using gay to mean stupid is inherently prejudiced against homosexuals, and people should think more about what they say. Like it or not, it fills a societal need. And honestly, if you agree that you're not the intended audience, why do you need to make a fuss?
