-Colorful

-A good mix of speed (day) and raw power (night)

-There is platforming indeed, in the NIGHT stages.

-Exploration is encouraged as you need sun/moon medals to progress the game.

And so on. Sure, the Warehog moves a lot slower, but if he didn't you'd be too busy bouncing all over the place to explore anyways. I can go on, but you are... Just of a bad taste in games imo.

@omfghax There's 2 different versions of the same game. The version you have, and the PS3/360 version. This version is generally the better version in many aspects, including the pace, the level design,, the Werehog (like 6 times more moves than the other version. And other aspects to upgrade which makes the replay value a lot better), the secrets (a lot of cleverly hidden collectibles in each level). There's also 2 removed levels and music for the levels which add to this version of the game.

In the Night, if you die by an enemy, you lose your Unleashed gauge if you have another life and get revived by green life energy on the spot you died and get a full life bar without going back anywhere).

@vgman94 I played the PS2 version and i didn't liked it, mostly because of the controls. But it wasn't because the controls were bad, it has nothing to do with it. The PS3/360 version got the same buttons to press for an action (example: X on 360 is boost, and square on PS3 is boost), but on the PS2 version the buttons were different. Was it necessarely to change it??

The only control changes I noticed were square being used for boosting instead of drifting in the PS3 version and circle being the drift button. I played the PS2 version first, so I see it the opposite way, but I didn't mind it. After a while, the controls were easy for me on both.

It's pretty much the best Sonic game out there (Colors is overrated and repetitive): The day stages are fast, exciting, and the Werehog has a bunch of combos and is complex and the enemies are pretty good. The music besides an overused fight theme is good in the night and amazing in day. There's some very hard flying stages, but in the PS2/Wii version, it's easier. If she's under 11, buy the PS2/Wii version (less fun, but easier) and PS3/360 version if she's older that that.

Different teams worked on separate versions of the game. One team for the 360/PS3 version. One team for the wii/PS2 version. Thats why there plots [the temple guardians on the wii/PS2 vs Citizens with errands] were different as well as the levels.

in the wii and the ps2 versions , Eggman Land becomes unbroken just after the Egg Dragoon battle. and at the end of the story line, you should have the world complete and unbroken.

The old 2d sonic games featured both speed AND serious platforming. All Unleashed did was separate the two ingredients into Night and Day and suddenly everyone gets butthurt "sigh".
