J'avais vu ce groupe lors de AMNESY INTERNATIONNAL SHOW ou j'avais été invité ; et j'avoue avoir été impressionné par la prestation de MANU KATCHE ,lyrisme ,beau jeux de toms ,groove très personnels (comme dans l'album "SO" de PETER GABRIEL) j'ai depuis ses début j'ai toujours apprécié son jeu de batterie. The guy is the most tasteful and original sounding drummer from that period, he made the Gabriel stuff for me. All who followed him failed terribly, I saw Billy Cobham play with Gabriel and it was shite... check out the return fill after the breakdown in secret world.... he also played with Sting and Tears for Fears, check Badmans song. Also Somewhere down that crazy River. magic...he now judges for Xfactor france ,shame. He was actually a pianist first, drumming came second...

I have always considered Manu Katche to be the best drummer I have ever heard, ever since hearing him on Jan Garbarek's albums Visible World & Twelve Moons (check out the drum-based song "Gautes-Margjit" from that album), & then hearing him with Peter Gabriel on this concert video Secret World Live.

Nothing short of brilliant Manu is one drummer that can set the base/tone for any song or lay back and become invisible. He has the strongest traditional French Grip Ive seen with any accomplished drummer Check out his two solo Jazz albums, yet another facet of a great drummer!

Manu had a nice Yamaha set up, not sure if that was the lighting of the drums or if the drums were actually light blue - very pretty. I haven't seen that color in the USA or in the Yamaha catalog.

This has always been one of my favorite Manu moments. I get chills every time I see the part when he comes roaring out of the gate with that singlet tom roll. And the rest of the feature after that is just pure, in-your-face feel. Simply awesome.

Big miss here, the song In Your Eyes. It has an amazing "world beat" so hard to play, it gives the impression there's 2 drummers to make the beat but in fact, he's alone and sweating. What a great drummer! In my Top5 all-time favorite.
