Unlike battlefield, which you play for the multiplayer, you play Modern warfare for the story. BF3 is a tailor made game for multiplayerfags. At least COD still cares about having a main story :C

@peepeevagi No offense, but COD hasn't been about plot line since it stepped out of its WW II setting. The first of the Modern Warfare setting was good, but the second and third are pretty much Micheal Bay films. Its a flashy, explosive ride but in the end that's really all there is to it. Thus why COD focuses on Multiplayer just as much as Battlefield.

@Shinsay Are you fucking serious? Um, the story is picking up off from where it ended in MW2. IT. IS ABOUT. THE STORY. So what it's a flashy and explosive ride, that doesn't make it any less about the story.

And of course it focuses on multiplayer, but unlike all those other games, it's actually got a full fledged story. BF3 has some kind of half assed story about nukes and russians and some shit, and a main campaign you can beat in an hour and a half.

@Shinsay Battlefield by comparison is almost entirely about the multiplayer. It's campaign mode is, like, an hour and a half long, boring, and is completely predictable (Much more akin to a Michael Bay film than MW3), not to mention that it's got NOTHING at all to do with the previous games. So not only is it short and disappointing but it draws from nothing prior. Heck, did you ever hear anyone say they wanted to play it "For the story"?

@Shinsay Now compare it to MW3, where people were looking forward to more Soap and Makarov and persona non grata and shit. People looked forward to MW3 because it's got actual CHARACTERS with CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. MW2 made you grow to care about the two guys and their betrayal with General Shepherd and how they're the two most wanted men on earth through a long and drawn out story. Versus Battlefield 3 where it's about as long as a pop culture film and half as memorable.

Saying COD isn't about the story and is in the same pit as BF3 is like saying The Beatles and Justin Bieber are both geared towards the same audience and their music is about the same shit. The beatles have a story, nay, a legend, and when you listen to their music you tend to feel for them a little bit, the music touches you, and it's music that anyone can hop into. Versus Bieber which is tasteless and geared towards one audience and one audience alone.
