Sorry, but watch the video again.

1st of all, there are 2 belayers for each climber. One of which (the one pulling the slack) is not even watching the climber.

2nd, BOTH of the climbers at one point fall off the wall and are hanging on the rope at some point in the climb.

Lastly, this style of climbing makes no sense. It looks sloppy and childish.

Speed climbing never really impress me, mayve when their doing such speed on overhang cripms i will consider it real climbing

lol the belayer helps them thats why i dont like this type of climbing coz they are aided by the flow of the rope

the belayer can't help if there's slack in the rope. pay attention.

no they are not...the belayer doesn't do ANYTHING to aid the climber, the only thing the belayer does is make sure the rope is tight enough that if the climber were to fall they won't splat on the ground. I belay for a living for right now and trust me the only climbers I can aid are little 25 pound kids and still its a struggle to pull them up.

my coworker speed climbs and all you really need to do is use a grigri and go fast. If you use an ATC you have to worry about matching you hands and sliding you brake hand down, but you don't have the time to do that with speed climbing so you just pull out the slack and slide your hand up and if that isn't working as well as your hope just back up as well.
