  • what the hell was that last thing... :O

  • @MyF150KicksAss That was a binturong or "Bearcat" we have a few at the sanctuary, although they are not related to the bear or cat family :)

  • @BigCatRescue wow i never thought i would get responded to... and thank you

    :)

  • Fantastic video

  • its kinda messed up to have a turtle in the tigers enclosure you know it hurts the turtle btw why you give it to a pet store so somebody will buy it and wont beat it up

  • @ivesour Som eof our larger tiger enclosures have access to a portion of the lake the turtles are wild and sometimes they find their way into the tiger enclosures...

  • is this the first fish that the fishing cat has caught and poor fish had to die lol

  • @17animallove I believe so, the fishing cat weren't really that interested!

  • i want one

  • @bigcatrescue we already have 2 cats (1 is a rescue) but I really want a savannah just because they are so unique and they jump so high! If I could I would have every cat in the world!

  • @jamesingtonthethird Please reconsider buying a savannah cat, you would just be paying breeders to create more cats that end up being unwanted and fueling the exotic pet trade.....

  • @bigcatrescue oh yeah. I sort of missed out the bit that's said serval :) say, do you know the average price if an f1 savannah by any chance?

  • @jamesingtonthethird They vary in price all the way up to over $20,000, we are obviously against ownership and breeding of these cats, do yourself a favor and go rescue a true domestic cat :)

  • is 1:29 a serval?

  • Is one of cybil's foot broken?? and wouldn't you have to amputate it?!?!? that would suck.

  • @0mgtk0 Her leg was crushed as a kitten and healed wrong. There were not enough pieces to pin it, but the leg is healthy otherwise so it was not amputated :)

  • nice cats :) also a nice BIG fish :D

  • i have a few questions

1:why didnt the cat eat the fish do you think it felt bad?? XD

2:why is the geoffroy cat considered a bid cat if its so small wouldnt they be mistaken as house pets

  • @Rainpath56 The fishing cat ate the fish eventually :) The geoffroy cat although the same size as a domestic cat is a wild species so we just refer to them as big cats despite their size :)

  • wtf kitty kitty no like da fishy fishy

p.s. no 1 cares i might be just another crittic but still no life

  • how do you tell them all apart?

  • @TheTwinkletwinkle1 Over time you just learn to distinguish the cats by their face or markings etc...:) I didn't think i'd ever get to that point but I am now!!!

  • you guys should make a series on youtube called "in between tours" where you just show random videos of things the cats do in between tours

  • Yeah, all the funny out take moments, that would be good :)

  • The cat at 2:56 is like "did those little shits just gave me a paper bag?!" "WTF!!"

  • how would i get into something like you DO??

  • Studying a relevant subject, like biology, animal management etc... would be good, then experience plays a big role in getting a job, so volunteer wherever you can and learn as you go :)

  • How big is Crystal the jungle cat? She looks pretty small, like the size of a Geoffrey cat.

  • She is pretty small, but not that small, she's the size of a regular house cat.

  • Thank you for the videos in your series here. I enjoy viewing them immensely.

  • No problem, thanks for watching! :)

  • Cybil's little hobble is so cute.

I skimmed some of the older comments and noticed the one about them being in captivity vs the wild. Well, at least you are trying to give the best care and most suitable living environment within your means. It really seems you guys work hard to make their lives feel as natural as possible. On the other hand, I'm bothered that so many cat owners just let their cats roam freely, when they're domesticated and meant to be inside spending time with their owners.

  • aw where do u go to see this?

  • Big Cat Rescue, 12802 Easy Street, Tampa FL 33625

Hope you can make it for a tour!

  • oh cool thank u i will try when i head down thank u

  • wow nice vid

  • where do bear cats originate

  • They live throughout asia and are mostly nocturnal.

  • That is so funny because I live next to a college where the bearcat is their mascot. According to them, it would look like a cougar. In reality, looks nothing like it at all. That's funny. Just thought I'd share that little bit of information.

  • Cats with noms...

  • What the bloody hell is Thing?!

  • Ha ha, Thing is a Binturong or "bearcat" we have three at the sanctuary. They are not related to the bear or cat family but more closely related to the civet. Strange looking, but always popular on tours!

  • They also smell bad (musk glands, just like civets).

  • lol! pisces is pretty sweet!

  • My god Nica looks like oen of my cats!

  • Don't be fooled she's a fierce little cat and still very much wild!

  • lol

  • are those cats (not the big cats) your pets and you just let them play around.

  • No, we have no contact with any of our cats at the sanctuary, no matter what size they are they'd do damage to you given half a chance! The smaller they are the worse they get!

  • The Geoffrey cat looks just like my cat,Winkie,a black cat with unusually shaped head and sleek body. Do you think he could be related to this cat? He is smaller, of course

  • what was the treat cat nip?

  • We use all different spices and scents for our enrichment including cat nip you just have to experiment to see which works best for the cats!

  • I was wondering if this organization does much towards helping the Jaguar. Did not the Jaguar once inhabit the southern US before colonization? Just curious. Thanks for all the greatly important work you guys do. Hopefully one day i can make as great an impact on helping save an entire family of animals

  • what in gods name is thing???

  • Ok.....I don't think my last comment worked so...

What happened to Cybil's leg? Is he/she ok? What kind of cat is nica? LoLs. Why is nica there?? What was in the bag? ... Will they always be with you guys...????

  • Her leg was crushed as a kitten and healed wrong. There were not enough pieces to pin it, but the leg is healthy otherwise so it was not amputated. Nico is a black Geoffroy Cat who was a pet that was discarded because he got too feisty. We are a permanent home to all of these cats. The bags are full of enrichment, such as spices, perfumes, cat nip or smelly things to give them something for their senses. Captivity is awful for cats, so we try to keep them entertained.

  • Thank you!

  • I appreciate very much that you realize that captivity is awful for cats. Doesn't this mean that zoos suck, they are wrong? I answer: it does! Zoos are like a more enlightened 'circus,' which is like a more 'enlightened' bear-baiting. Unfortunately in a metropolis the zoo it is the only way I can see any beautiful animal beyond the dismal ecology of the city, so I have been. I say, nature preserves instead of zoos.

  • Xzatie, I am sorry I just now found your comment or I would have responded sooner. I forwarded some of your questions on to another who works closer with the animals than I. Once a cat arrives at Big Cat Rescue they spend the rest of their lives here. We do not breed, do not sell, do not trade etc.. The cats live is peace and tranquility the rest of their lives right here.

  • it`s soo boring...!!

  • poor animals :(

  • Pitereczek, we wish they could be free. We didn't make them captive and would not have chosen that for them. However, the cats we do rescue we do our best to give them as much room as possible, proper good quality food, excellent medical care and as many enrichment activities as we can. We are devoted to making their lives as quality as possible.

  • As nice as it would be to have them run free, at least they are a bit safer from poachers in a zoo.

  • lol very good! i am very fond of cats! do you have any jaguars or caracals?

  • MeLuvMe9, there are some wonderful caracals here at Big Cat Rescue. Mamba and Miracle the jaguars were old and in very poor health when they arrived. They last bit of time on earth was pleasurable, peaceful and safe. Their story will truly touch your heart. You can read about them and see their photos on our main website. On our main website you can also see photos and read about the caracals that live at Big Cat Rescue.

  • wow that is very sweet knowing that big cat rescue are here for all the animals known to us for being 'inferior;

    thank you BGR

  • BCR - I wouldn't know that Geoffroy's cat wasn't a domestic aside from its size and odd body language. I'll have to look up more on them. Thank you for showing us this interesting species!

  • capnquack, there is more information about this little cat specie on our main website. Drop by and check it out. While you are there go the Free Stuff-Games section and you will find lots of free wallpapers, screensavers, puzzles, games, eCards and more you might enjoy as well.

  • keep up the good work bigcats org!!!

  • keep up the good work bigcats org!!!

  • Turtle FTW!!!!

  • Great job you guys have. Do you have any ocelots or jaguarundis living in your sanctuary?

  • Thanks for watching!

We have a few ocelots but no jaguarundis.

We have a video of our ocelots up here on you tube.

  • I'm glad you've all saved these animals, but I think its a shame that they can't be where they are supposed to be...in the wild left alone.

  • We feel the same way.

  • god tigers are so gorgeous!

  • your tigers are gorgeous.......my dream is to own a place like yours and raise a tiger from the time its born and somewhat domesticate it (if thats even possible)

  • what the hell?? the last animal is a cat??

  • No, it's a bearcat - totally non-cat animal. Just has "cat" in it's name.

  • wow, such beautiful animals w/ such cute names!! :o)

  • the fishing cat reminds me of cat, coco

  • beautiful cats

  • I will sell you my home and all of my posessions plus 900 dollars I'll throw in for the fishing cat. Thanks. You can have my car too.

  • Thanks but, trust us, you don't the cat..all he would do is pee on you then try to bite you day after day after day after day.. he is a wild animal.

  • Binturong FTW! Hehe. They don't get enough love.

  • Will you take the red snapper... or what's inside the box?

Seriously, though, that's some good wildlife footage. Shame about the serval, though... a serval that can't jump is like a cheetah that can't run.

    JR

  • yuck XD....great vis with beautyful animals :)

  • poor turtle, but if a piece of meat or food spices are a treat, wut does it regularly eat?

  • All of our cats big and small get Natural Balance Carnivore diet. And then also some chicken and beef.

    Thanks for watching the video!

  • Cool, that's the first time I've ever seen film of a Geoffroy's cat, and I had no idea they could be black either. The tigers being confused about the turtle was funny.

  • hhahaha they wont go in the water!

  • They also used to do a night time tour on nights with a full moon. Not sure if they still do but it was fun.

  • This is wonderful!!! I love the way you put this together!!

  • Inside the bag was either a small piece of beef or sometimes we put in food spices.

    Thanks.

  • YAY big cats in Tampa!!! I drive past there all the time and always wanted to see inside!!!

  • You should call them and go on one of the tours. You'd love it! You completely forget you are in a city.

  • lol the poor turtle! XD

    lol "yuck"

What was in that bag?? It must have been been very interesting!

    poor fish! 8O

lol the Geoffrey was so cute!! XP

  • nice video. happy to see animals enjoying ^^
