I would say you can buy them for anywhere from $8 up. Depends on the paper, quality, etc. I've seen the basic canson sketchbooks at B&N for about $14....but there are cheap brands too. I would get the best you can afford. Cheap paper is no fun to draw on. Better quality will be more "pleasurable" to use, and therefore you will draw more.
