  • I just realised the Yeti was pregnant at this time so that would have added to John's stress about the vaccine.

  • I think it's kinda funny. I got this vaccine and 4 other vaccines and nothing happened to me. I just got a little sleepy. I fell to sleep on my Mom's job floor and a bunch of old residents kept thinking I was dead. XD

  • Doctor Who and Jack's people with pee? xD

  • i never got the H1N1 vaccine. turns out it was all mass hysteria caused by the government. funny how often that happens

  • I'm allergic to the flu shot. When I get it, my arm swells up like a balloon. Lovely eh?

  • @WhatsUpUrSphincter Either that or you become a superhero every time you get the flu shot.

  • Comment removed

  • hehehe, wobblegirl was fake

  • Everyone at my school had to get the vaccine. Military regulated it. Bl

  • there is totally a vaccine ad in the corner of this youtube page. Yay for accurate advertising!

  • birthday video :)

  • Did nobody notice the pee injectinon?

  • @AGZraider15 best comment EVER !!!

  • @pablotato hahaha i got it from george lopez lol real talk hahaha

  • @AGZraider15 hahaha yes I know ! legit !

  • okay, there's 7 billion people, and If there's a 1 in 10000000 chance of getting it...

700 people have it on this world

  • @RiskyBrothers Yes of course, presuming 7 billion people on the planet are vaccinated for H1N1 and that that statistic is completely correct.

  • that chick who faked those symptoms on tv should be in fucking prison.

  • I got the vaccine and still ended up with it. :/

  • @jellybelly98rox Chances are you were probably incubating the virus at the time you were vaccinated.

  • autism is no sole..simple

  • My uncle got a shot then he became paralyzed and now he can't walk.

  • @dra2theman If you don't like his video, don't watch it! I think he did a great job!!

  • Had a nerdy moment when he said "A DOCTOR WHO injects people"

  • I understand that vaccines are important both my brothers had all their vaccines, however I am allergic I nearly died when I got the MMR vaccine at six months old, I don't want to do it again because my doctor (who doesn't inject people with pee) as well as the people at children's hospital say that it's better for me not to receive vaccines. I do however wish that at least 90% of the population does get vaccinated as I want herd immunity from Y'all.

  • Well, it's kind of dangerous, because there's the part where the third horseman of the apocalypse, pestilence, infected the H1N1 vaccine with the croatoan virus, turning everyone who got the vaccine into zombies/demons with the intent to destroy the world to make way for lucifer when he wore Sam to the prom.

    I watch too much tv...

  • I had swine flu, bronchitis, a sinus infection, and a ruptured eardrum all at the same time. The swine flu was only the third most troublesome of the four lol

  • I didn't get the swine flu shot....and I got the swine flu. Boo....

  • 2:31 "Doctor Who injects people with pee". John, doctor who is an amazing television show. It doesn't inject people with pee.

  • Funny, I remember thinking back in late 2009, I'm not interested in getting a vaccine because H1N1 is big stupid hyped up media tomfoolery. I definitely agree on the point that the passive decision is not always the conservative one. I also think that during this "outbreak", the entire country became a little less intelligent.

  • what hair cut...?

  • Would you rather get a horrid disease and have the possibility of death or get an injection wich only on occasion has some side effects?

    Its common sense people!

These arguments are never going to be resolved fully because there are always doubts

  • @caciquepadilla Autism existed before the vaccine. A lot of people died because of that piece of misinformation provided by the newspapers.

  • @shewontshutup Just because your sister received the vaccine and was diagnosed with autism doesn't mean the two are related. It will have been developing for a long time before diagnosis. I fed my dog one morning but I also spilled my cheerios. I didn't spill my cheerios because I fed my dog.

  • @pronouncingvariables saying there isnt a correlation between the two is in its self as much as a presumption as saying there is one. the problem being that we do not know what causes autism, weather it is congenital or caused by a vaccine. more research needs to be done on the subject. fighting about it isnt going to solve anything.

  • LOL. "Said the creeper." <3

  • "Because I fear the giant squids of anger being like 'Blaaa! You're not going to get a vaccine to keep me from kicking your butt!" I love you giant squids of anger, but I also fear you. "

  • I was one of the first people in england to get swine flu... someone at my school brought it back from a holiday. It wasn't that bad ...

  • That vascine was the worst one I ever had, I was sick for days. But I suppose it was worth it...

  • @TookItHomeToJenny You think that was bad, try swine flu. Oh my actual it was really really really really very very very very very not nice at all. Worst week EVER :(

  • @TheMrNagsbags That sounds nasty, at least you got a week off work? And now you're sure you are sure not to get it again.

The irrating thing for me was that I was sick for days, but I was highly unlikely to actually get the flu itself. The reason I got the vascine was that mum and dad were in the "high risk groups" (my mum is a nurse and my dad had broken his neck that year). But they, nor anyone else that any of us knew got sick! So it was compleatly pointless... :(

  • Oink Barf XD

  • "Said the creeper" X3

  • how could injecting urine back into your body POSSIBLY help your immune system? IT'S A WASTE PRODUCT! O_o

  • You're not gonna get a vaccinne to keep me from kicking your butt, John. Not even more than a year later.

Gahhh I love watching old vlogbrothers videos.

  • Dystonia?! My friend has that. It's absolutely AWFUL. :(

  • "All though I do hang out with a lot of children," said the creeper

That's a nicccCCcce offspring you have there...

    sssssSSSSssss

  • or peee

  • John. As a man of great taste, I request that you bring back this opening theme. It makes me happier than I have ever felt, and I think it sums up Nerdfighteria (sp?). Or if that is too radical, then please ask Hank to make it a full length song. This is my only shot because I don't know where else to put this. Sincerely, A Nerdfighter.

  • @HellMaster548

You could start a forum thread at yourpants*dot*org

  • I had swine flu. It kicked my ass. Hard.

  • lol My dad took one look at this poster advertising the vaccine and he said, "That's stupid and unneeded," and walked away. WIN!

  • I got the vaccine, but immediantly afterwards I felt all the mini-symptoms. My friends began refering to it as potbellied pig flu

  • JOHN AND/OR GREEN. COME TO DALLAS. NAO.

  • my mom asked me if i wanted it, i said no cuz its not a big deal, people just over reacted about it

  • oh, no- the puff!! Its gone!!!! :C

  • i didnt get the vaccine look at me, typing!

  • Everytime I tell somebody I had oinkbarf/swine flu they run off screaming. >:l

  • Oinkbarf <3

  • Oink'barf sounds adorable.

  • don't take life too seriously. no one gets out of it alive anyway

I never got a vaccine and I never got sick... which is incredibly wierd since nearly everyone at my school got sick and for like 2 weeks the classes had only half the kids

  • @spidermanandsnape You're an idiot who has put other people as well as yourself at risk.

  • I had H1N1. Twice. And it really wasn't that bad.

  • @foolersqueen You can't get H1N1 twice. Like any other variety of the flu, you only catch it once.

  • BAWWWW YOU CAN'T GET A VACCINE TO KEEP ME FROM KICKING YOUR BUTT

  • rush: "if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice" :)

  • Wait. Wasn't the Yeti pregnant in that time? Because if Henry is one and a day today, then by November the Yeti had already been 7 months with child, so she should've taken the vaccine, and so did John, if I remember those rules correctly. I'm confused =S

  • @Tat2ice No, I'm pretty sure it was OK for pregnant women to get vaccinated. Actually I think they were part of the priority. At least in my area they were.

  • @coolgirlrules702 That's what I meant to say, she should have been vaccinated and so did John...

  • And she can talk again in a fake Brittish accent- which is why dystonia never happens in Brittain

  • Technically, he's not full of crap. He's full of pee.

  • H1N1 vaccine wasn't available in our country. Even for immune compromised ppl.

If it were, I wouldn't have got it. Because I NEVER once in my 24 years on earth got the flu. I don't get flu. So I don't think getting vaccines for it is rational.

  • i wish i got the vaccine. swine flu sucked! :(

  • oink barf. not to be confused with pig farts

  • I don't think he's full of crap, he's just full of piss and vineger.

  • I got the Swine Flu.... :P

  • Can I just say that I love the way John acts out the giant squids of anger?

  • Ugh I almost burst into a giant squid of anger when my 9th grade bio teacher started preaching about how vaccination causes autism....

  • @SuperEggplant my twin sister got autism as a direct result from having the MMR vaccine, so do your research, maybe listen to your teacher, before you act like such a dick.

  • @shewontshutup I'm sorry that happened to your sister but... You claim this despite the fact that there has been no scientific evidence for this... The initial claims made in 1998 by Andrew Wakefield have since been heavily retracted. It saddens me that because of this, needless outbreaks of Measles and mumps killed children. I am human therefore I understand the power of fear, but I too understand the power of knowledge and the sadness of preventable death.

  • @shewontshutup saying there isnt a correlation between the two is in its self as much as a presumption as saying there is one. the problem being that we do not know what causes autism, weather it is congenital or caused by a vaccine. more research needs to be done on the subject. fighting about it isnt going to solve anything. and the research that has come out, which the only one that i know of that made any headway was a paper in the uk which had manipulation of data.so it was bad.

  • @shewontshutup correlation/causation fallacy. look it up.

  • @SuperEggplant AS SOMEONE WITH MILD MILD AUTISM, NOOOO.

    FAIL.

    NOT TRUE.

    IT'S GENETIC.

  • @Dreamer00 They said they almost burst into a giant squid of anger, saying that they know the teacher was wrong. I doo not mean to be rude, I just dont want anyone's feelings hurt over missuderstandings,

  • @ddc32997 No, I agree. I guess I was being unclear. I was saying that when people do say that autism is linked to vaccines I become a giant squid of anger, and I completely agree with SuperEggplant's comment. Sorry that I wasn't clear enough! :)

  • @Dreamer00 Oh okay. :) That's fine.

  • i was in the high risk group...

  • dying tickles

  • "oinkbarf"...... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

  • Your statement about passive choices seeming more conservative is a very good point. Even though you're not entering the vaccine debate do you mind if I arm myself with that quote when I get challenged? I would feel more secure knowing that I had John Green backing me up (at least part of the way).

Now all I have to do is get a Stephen Fry quote and I will feel bulletproof!

  • ok h1n1 only kills 1.people with pre-existing conditions 2. old people with a weaken'd immune system

  • @uniforchrist Or young children.

  • So... I replayed that "giant squid of anger" moment like 20 times and laughed until I could no longer breathe. Then I decided that although laughing is fun, it would have to end in the very near future if I did not seize the opportunity to resume the intake of oxygen.

  • I got the vaccine in October when I went to the doctor for something else. When I went that day, it was right after the shot became available, so the doctor offered it and my mom made me get it. This only proves the fact that it's impossible for me to go to the doctor without getting a needle stuck into me.

  • Seriously? I'm not getting that shot, it's incredibly stupid. Some guy had come up w that cure before h1n1 broke out. They were just looking for some disease, and it happend to be oink barf. Look it up, there's a tonne of evidence.

  • I will absolutely be vaccinating my future children. No questions asked.

  • I got the H1N1 it wasnt that bad(it just felt kinda like a flu duhhh)...it was kinda lonely though...but that was ok for 2 reasons

    1) I'm a nerdfighter I like to spend long periods of time in my room

    2) my friend had it at like the SAME EXACT TIME AS ME! so i had someone to talk to/ text

  • I had H1N1 before it was called H1N1 or swine flu.

They told me I had a slightly bad flu, and that it would take two weeks to cure.

I stayed home, drank alot of tea, and got better.

  • I got H1N1 6 months before it became a major concern in Canada. I'm not terribly worried.

  • H1n1--no need for it.

  • watch?v=ayv3Q0XIfv4

  • yay no-shave november!

  • i got that vaccine

  • just because one event happens before another doesn't mean that the latter was a direct result of the former. People feel comforted in having something tangible to blame for their misfortunes, so they blame the vaccines. Also, people justify not getting vaccinated because they figure that everyone else will, and thus will be protected. Not only does this not work, but it is incredibly selfish.

  • I had to stand in line for three and a half hours to get the vaccine :P

  • The puff is so not gone

  • My cousin says that the people who get the Oink Barf vaccince are gonna turn into zombies in 2012.

    I kinda think so too.

I will turn into a zombie. Damn. Well, best kill me with a crow bar!! :D

  • yes my bro and sis took the vaccine i will see them in hell

  • The US gov't website, VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) has published statistics of H1N1 (swine flu) adverse reactions. As of Jan. 22, 2010

    8,755 reports filed

564 classified "Serious Health Events" (defined as "death, major disability, abnormal conditions at birth, hospitalization or extensio of existing hospitalizaion"

    42 deaths

    RIP

  • I got my shot Nov 10 and I am now a ZOMBIE....

  • good thing i did not get that crap

  • ok i am not getting the n1h1 stuff

  • @gunman50cal you mean h1n1

  • "said the creeper" lol

why didnt we call swine flu oink barf its way better :)

  • classic!

  • i had it..all hype

  • let me tell you why I'm not getting the vaccine.

    Zombies.

  • haha. HE isn't a pregnant lady, but the Yeti is (and was at the time of this video)!

  • ...a lot of my family won't get the vaccine because they think the government put poison in it that will make you infertile......so I am a little scared about how many people may agree with them (not getting the vaccine because of the side effects). I love my family very much, btw.

  • I'm sorry but I couldn't help but lol at your family!

  • Oh that's fine. I had a hard time keeping a straight face myself. Though I more wanted to face-palm.

  • from what i have seen in good old Kentucky, unless you are already have a weakened immune system you wont get the pork plague as long as you cover your mouth and wash your hands, and the people I talked to who actually did get down with the sickness recovered in less than one (albeit sucky) week. I never got the vaccine cause i thought they didn't test it enough before they went mass producing it ,granted, I know nobody who actually got sick from the vaccine.

  • Mercury is absolutely toxic to humans hence the vaccine is not harmless.

  • Giant squids of anger will descend regardless. They just want to spread the anger.

  • @regularguy5mb We should just create more Regular Sized Squids of Ration Debate and Source Citation. NERDFIGHTERS!!

  • @MrScholarify Yes, we most definitely should.

    DFTBA!!!

  • Duuuuude... little aggressive huh....

  • [Thou art] a flesh monger, a fool, and a coward.

  • Thou art relish'd of a base descent!

  • I feel like this video is just a huge foreshadow to your most recent video.

The setting... the line about you not being a pregnant lady...

  • The line about not being a pregnant lady is because, at the time, only Health care workers, kids, and preggo ladies could get the H1N1 vaccine.

  • I hope you're jokingly giving me that information. It was clearly stated in the video, and I'm not a total n00b when it comes to keeping up with the news.

    Thank you, though.

Assuming everyone's a bigger idiot than you are is a great tactic for the Internet.

Note: This comment should not be comprehended as rude.

  • plus he's an author and we all know how they LOVE to foreshadow

  • But I liked the puff....

  • Which was the first video when they talked about the squids of anger? I missed it and it's hilarious.

  • @avonne100

    TV For Chickens

  • Thankin' ya, darlin'.

  • all i have to say is my son and i got the shot. my 9 month old nearly died in the hospital from swine flu. his heart actually stopped for a second. i thought he was gone. he pulled through and now he has gotten the vaccine and has been the happiest baby i have ever seen. no fever when he got it not even the sniffles and that shot was given a week ago. i do not want to sit next to him again nearly dead thinking i could have prevented this

  • i got swine flu it's crap

  • Comment removed

  • Dispute the two headed WHO statement in '92 "No amount of mercury/thimerisol is safe for humans". Good act though, 5* for amusment factor. The conspiracy is H1N1 would infect 6 billion by WHO kill "untold" thousands, while experimental vaccines were rushed to production DEADlines. LOL!

  • Good comment!

CONSPIRACY LIES! People making money off of these conspiracy theories. Don't believe them!

The vaccine is not dangerous. Bang yourself on the head. You are ridiculous conspiracy theorists. May the little green men, you believe in, get you and eat you.

  • Have you people defending the vaccine even looked at the risks of dying from swine flu alone?

According to the latest worldwide statistics, only about 1/100 people that contracted the virus died, and this is without looking at whether they had PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. This is something a lot of people are ignoring.

The vaccine is redundant, if you are perfectly healthy, then you are VERY likely to live, and if you have a medical condition, you shouldn't be getting a vaccine anyway.

  • I got the oink-barf vaccine, and the next day I came down with a pretty bad cold. bleh.

  • interestingly enough while everyone does everything they can to avoid potentially lethal things (e.g. getting sick, airplanes, suicide bombers) the fact is life is unavoidably fatal

  • Life isn't fatal, things that happen in life are fatal. Life is a state of being.

  • I have a question for you. Out of how many trillions of people who have been alive in the past, how many of them are alive? also if you don't die of an accident or some weird catastrophe how do you die? Of old age. old age is just living to long. Ergo to much life. (To much of a good thing is a bad thing!) I hope that clears that up for you. :)

  • @11calkja You forgot cars.

  • @11calkja I know this is a year old comment, but still, Id like to point out that death wont be so unavoidable for long. See telomere bead research, nanotechnology, the future of medicine and how proteomics will help cure most diseases and lastly (and this is not soon, but less than 100 years) advanced sub neuron level brain scanning + computers that can run a 'program' identical to you. Making "you" immortal, and thats good enough for me :D

  • @ataraxic89 I wouldn't have expectations that are too high. Even if we could make everyone immortal - which never does seem to work - the population would continue to grow, we wouldn't have anywhere to put everyone, and disputes over land would probably cause wars that would kill plenty of people.

Plus, your ears and nose never stop growing, so everyone would look like Dumbo the elephant :P DFTBA

  • @thatweirdnerdygirl I try not to assume Ill be alive for it, but it will happen. But your counterpoints demonstrate a very common misunderstanding that several technologies will be coming together at the same time. Nanotech will allow many things to fight over population. 1 being that we wont have kids so much, that already occurs in developed nations. 2 nanobot will allow use to make anything for only the cost of the atoms in it, including food. and more, but this isnt big enough.

  • hahahahah

  • That was the most amazing giant squid of anger imitation like EVER.

  • What does dftba mean?

  • Deers fear the best art.

  • homygosh

if you're kidding I'm sorry. If you are serious.......

just- in your quest for the answer don't forget to be awesome. no matter what.

  • I got it and the only problem I have had is a large rash on my arm.

  • LMAO 2:37- 2:40 :)

  • Funny development: Spanish Influenza, from which Edward Cullen apparently died, might have been a more serious version of swine flu. Therefore, we should not fear the lack of vaccines because then we'll get to die of the same disease as a sexy vampire.

  • Look at the ingredients for these vaccines.

Look at the insert of the vaccines to find what awful side-effects it causes.

Or that you can't sue pharma if you become ill after taking their vaccines.

Or what happened in 1976 where people got GBS.

  • Darien il not hindsdale

  • pregnant women and children... those arent "high risk," those are "high target!!"

theyre trying to create deltas and epsilons. Read Brave New World and you'll know. this is social engineering.

  • my mom is so goddamn sick from getting the swine flu vaccination. DONT TAKE IT

  • dude ur mom will recover soon ide advise you to take it..plus if the vaccine is bad ( i allready got it and so did my whole family and school and we are all ok) we are all gonna die at some point on this planet so just live life at its fullest anything can happen

  • Comment removed

  • I got the H1N1 vaccine (shot not nasal spray) and nothing has happened so there get it if you are one of the people who should because you are better off.

  • get informed before you judge (for yourself) on what is dangerous or not.

  • this dude is retarded. the vaccines have been proven to be more deadly than the flu itself

  • Are you actually suggesting that on a per capita basis more individuals die as a result of receiving A/H1N1 vaccinations (and remain uninfected) as compared to individuals who contract an infection? If so, I would love for you to point me to an original source.

  • Are you at all familiar with the concept of hypercytokinemia or a secondary infections? You're a twat.

  • show me how? how are they proven?

  • Mainstream medicine sucks balls if you ask me!

  • Indeed, I absolutely detest the rational, evidence-based approach to addressing health problems. Drugs of an anti-bacterial, anti-protozoal, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-tumor, anti-pain, immunomodulative nature, to name a few, ought to be dispensed with. I'm not terribly fond of surgery either, what good has ever come of removing infected teeth, appendices, tumors, abscesses and arterial blockages anyway?
