This one goes to a very good friend Peter Cooksey over 30 years a go who introduce me to this song in Kings country club in Eastbourne. Hope you well Peter :) kamshad
please, any body get in contact i need someday we will all be free by wilton and bobby,, they took it off before i got a chance to get it copied, this is very important, i use it for background music while reading poetry, at NAACP,banquets, and the like. please somebody had it on before help me find it. thank you.,
it is it is bobby womack. check out the big brain on andy heh heh. hes such a recognisable artist from his lyric phrasing, his monologues and guitar and not least his voice. three cheers for the boabmeister. heh heh. thanks for posting this made my day
I Love this tune, pure jazz funk. Takes me back to the original Caister Soul Weekend in the early 80's hearing Chris Brown drop it on the Froggy Sound System,on a Saturday evenin while the crowd was slowly warming for the big nite ahead :-)
London London London !!!!! Robbie Vincent Greg Edwards Kiss FM Solar LWR....I could go on & on. Greatest place in the world for the true appreciation of US Jazz-Funk !!!! Just look at our dancers........
Yeah, brilliant laid-back melody for a real summer afternoon like this one. Hot, humid, birdsong in the background, Wilton Felder in the office. What a treat!!
Yeah Womack is a true Genius, a difficult artist to work with by all accounts but hey, ain't all Genius's. Trust your heart can be found on a June Yamagishi (not seen it in my collection for years is this how ya spell it?) lol In the guise of give this love a try, a rare Bobby nugget on jap only release. This is a class jazz/funk cut from the poet.
What a great musician...I just became aware that he played that AMAZING bass line on the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back". He was one of the creators of the style known as "Smooth Jazz", but there's no whimpiness about Wilton Felder. Or any of the Jazz Crusaders, for that matter. Thanks for this cut!!
Actually, Rick, it was one of Felder's first bass tracks for Motown after their move from Detroit to LA. Unfortunately Jamerson didn't make the trip as documented in "Standing in the Shadows of Motown".
I stand corrected. Jamerson was a hell of a bass player but he had one hell of a drinking problem which is what killed him. It's always good to talk to one who has the facts. Thanks for the info!
Well it'll be hard to obtain the CD since it looks it's out of print these days. I own both the album and the cd...this stuff is just too good. Also check out Bobby Womack's "Pieces". There's a track called
"Trust Your Heart" which sounds a bit like being at the origins of this song.
ty for sharing this great tune keep em coming

This movie was made PURPOSELY to make the Christians look dumb. They always do that in a Hollywood movie - they just don't get it right.
