  • The epitome great classic jazz and r&b Wilton!!

great collaborative effort of two brilliant musicians

Wilton and Jerrie you are two wonderful people inside. Bobby the poet is one that inspired my early writings. Founding member of Klymaxx,

    Rene' A. Porte'

  • Hey G.I remember the classic "Street Life" that has some r&b and jazz elements as well.

  • Classic~ Thanks for the upload. Peace and Blessings. IsisnCali~

  • Wilton Felder and the Crusaders just rock ! The Godfathers of West Coast Jazz !

Bobby Womack is a great vocalist to sit in with such great musicians !

  • Yeah, brilliant laid-back melody for a real summer afternoon like this one. Hot, humid, birdsong in the background, Wilton Felder in the office. What a treat!!

  • A beautiful summer song

  • This movie was made PURPOSELY to make the Christians look dumb. They always do that in a Hollywood movie - they just don't get it right.

  • this one is the story of my life . big up every one who feels that when they hear this vibe,U R REAL. LUV N PEACE

  • wat blast from the past great tune

  • Loved this song when I was growing up. Still remember the really cool album cover. Bobby Womack and Wilton Felder together is magical.

  • Great! Peace!

  • wilton felder played bass on the jackson 5 version, but i'm pretty sure james jamerson played it on the little-known david ruffin version

  • Class never goes out of style, thanks for this classic.

  • Yeah Womack is a true Genius, a difficult artist to work with by all accounts but hey, ain't all Genius's. Trust your heart can be found on a June Yamagishi (not seen it in my collection for years is this how ya spell it?) lol In the guise of give this love a try, a rare Bobby nugget on jap only release. This is a class jazz/funk cut from the poet.

  • What a great musician...I just became aware that he played that AMAZING bass line on the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back". He was one of the creators of the style known as "Smooth Jazz", but there's no whimpiness about Wilton Felder. Or any of the Jazz Crusaders, for that matter. Thanks for this cut!!

  • I hate to disappoint you but that bass player on I Want You Back was James Jamerson.

  • Actually, Rick, it was one of Felder's first bass tracks for Motown after their move from Detroit to LA. Unfortunately Jamerson didn't make the trip as documented in "Standing in the Shadows of Motown".

  • I stand corrected. Jamerson was a hell of a bass player but he had one hell of a drinking problem which is what killed him. It's always good to talk to one who has the facts. Thanks for the info!

  • My favourite Crusader - absolutely!! Thanks for posting.

  • Great Tune!!!!

    Thanks for posting

    Laney

  • Memories.........don't forget the Zero (Six)

and The Epping (Forest country Club)..

  • Terrific. Always like Wilton Felder when he was in The Crusaders.

  • Memories - Flicks at Dartford, Dave brown on a Friday night, Robbie on a Saturday morning, Caister, those were the days!

  • THANK YOU! I lost this album years ago and haven't been able to find it. LOVE HIM!!

    Please post whatever you have.

  • I love this song, im still looking for the "inherit the wind" cd but with no luck.

  • Well it'll be hard to obtain the CD since it looks it's out of print these days. I own both the album and the cd...this stuff is just too good. Also check out Bobby Womack's "Pieces". There's a track called

"Trust Your Heart" which sounds a bit like being at the origins of this song.

  • You must know about "Insight", another vintage cut off this album. Please post!

  • Cracking Tune......one of me faves....luv it!

  • new one on me jim but i like very much

  • Modern soul isnt a place where I go to often

but Im a sucker for anything with lots of Sax in .. Nice tune ...

    KTF.....
