Sweden has a very advanced social wellfare structure which I admire alot. The problem is that Sweden can't handle such a high number of immigrants, there are not enough money so the system is crumbling. Hello guys, I'm one of those 34,365 Swedish residents who left Sweden during the first 9 months of 2007. We didn't leave because we hate Sweden, we love Sweden but things that are happening in Sweden like the demographic explosion, the stupid politics and the madness in swedish society (you're not allowed to do anything: not drink, not smoke in some households etc...) made us migrate towards Switzerland where I have family (Im half swiss).
Estland should also be Nordic country because Estonians are genetically and linguistically close to the Finnish. Estonians have similar culture and traditions like the citizens of northern neighbour. Fifty years of soviet occupation and Gulf of Finland can't separate estlanders from others. For example in the end of 30's Estland had even higher economic level than Finland, but conquering russians spoiled everything.
@swevixeh1 In future when Estonia is after about 20 - 30 years on the same level with Finland, we might be also Nordic country. It is not correct thinking that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are the same countries with same people. Latvia and Lithuania are brother nations with similar languages, but Estonia is apart from them. E & F are both Fenno-Ugrics. Even before WW II Finland was called as a Baltic country.

And i agree with you, we are like distant brothers even our languages,cultures and ethnicity are diffrent still we share so much history together with our Nordic brothers :)
I think that other Nordic countries are only ones who Finland can trust. Although throughout history we have fought against each others Danish and Norwegians against Swedish and Finnish but that is history, now we live 21 century and we need to work together.

Hello guys, I'm one of those 34,365 Swedish residents who left Sweden during the first 9 months of 2007. We didn't leave because we hate Sweden, we love Sweden but things that are happening in Sweden like the demographic explosion, the stupid politics and the madness in swedish society (you're not allowed to do anything: not drink, not smoke in some households etc...) made us migrate towards Switzerland where I have family (Im half swiss).

Estland should also be Nordic country because Estonians are genetically and linguistically close to the Finnish. Estonians have similar culture and traditions like the citizens of northern neighbour. Fifty years of soviet occupation and Gulf of Finland can't separate estlanders from others. For example in the end of 30's Estland had even higher economic level than Finland, but conquering russians spoiled everything.

It is not correct thinking that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are the same countries with same people. Latvia and Lithuania are brother nations with similar languages, but Estonia is apart from them. E & F are both Fenno-Ugrics. Even before WW II Finland was called as a Baltic country.

In 1940 Finland succeeded in the fight against USSR, but five times smaller brother didn't. So Estonia, which has similar language and culture with Finns, was under cruel occupation 50 years. I am from Greece. Scandinavia, and all of northern Europe I find to be the most beautiful place on Earth! I plan on moving there one day if I can! I love Nordic languages, traditions and mythology.
Once there was a guy from Norway who told me that people in Nordic countries are looking down on other people who say they love Nordic mythology cause they don't have Nordic blood in them. I didn't believe him. How could people with such a wonderful mythology be so narrow-minded? I love North anyway.

Finnish origin is difficult to determine.
Finnish Mitochondrial DNA is almost identical to other European and Haplogroup M (found in Asia) is rare in Finland.
People of Western Finland have HG2 gene (common to Scandinavians) and people of East Finland have HG16 (common to Finno-Ugric peoples ).
It means that Finnish are two different "race" or Western Finnish are really Swedish.
And remember : language does not tell the origin!!
