wanna hear a real low bass check out the Blackwood and the Statesmen former Bass vocalist NIC VAL lowest bass singer on earth or lowest bass with the Blackwoods on you tube
Harold sounds great, but I think he might be lip syncing on the low notes. you can especially tell when he pulls the mic away and stops singing at 4:32 and you can still hear his voice until 4:34. Another example is at 5:54 to 5:57 where the same thing happens. Even at 6:11 to 6:12. I think you can hear his voice switch over from him singing to him lip syncing at 3:46 on "-ning". He's a good enough bass singer I didn't think he would need to do that!
I have seen Harold in person and in concert....he is and has been a great bass singer....it is hard to expel very much air when you are in that low range!
you guys must have not seen a lot of Harold's imitating he has done it all over the country, there are even other videos on youtube showing him doing it. not fake its truly his voice, harold is a very low bass singer.
The best part is the joke about his singing being a dishonest living as he proceeds to pantomime to a digitally lowered recording. Note how at three points in the song Harold removes the microphone from his lips without the note diminishing at all. Even fake imitation is a sincere form of flattery. Its fun to watch.
doesn't this guy have the biggest low bass voice that you have ever heard,

Groups will sometimes go into the studio after a video shoot and "tweak" some places where audio is too low or a note is "shaved."

very good contra octave singing!! 2 Eb1:s and then after the key drop two C1:s! the last one a bit sharp but what the heck!
but why is his voice ringing loud when he removes the mike??

Harold Gilley is such a talented bass singer! He was just as low as J.D. Sumner and sounded fantastic doing it!

yes, watching the clip closely shows it quite clearly that the mic and singing aren't completely in sync during the low parts ;)

I've followed JD Sumner's wonderful singing for over 50 years and know his voice very well. This guy does a good imitation of JD's speaking voice.

You are absolutely right. If you close your eyes and just listen, it is JD God rest his wonderful soul!
