Arcane Mage Basic DPS Guide 4.2 p1

Do you HAVE to spend the 4 points into the two talents surrounding Arcane Missiles? It seems more viable if not better to go 2/2 Improved Counterspell (silence is nice) and 2/2 Invocation (for 10% more damage for 8 seconds). Since Arcane Blast is your main form of damage, the 10% bonus seems more beneficial to me.

dude u are speaking too fast.. i didnt understand anything that how much do i need to have crit and how much haste and stuff like that.. i only understanded the glyphs and my arcane blasts are still doing only 15k.. and ur arcane blasts do 19k

ideal rotation is do arcane blast till 85% mana pop mana gem (for more mana and the spell power buff) arcane power and trinkets, spam arcane blast till 35% mana evocate then arcane blast till 50% mana then balance out AB with arcane missiles. good luck!

On my arcane mage i do 4 arcane blasts 1 arcane missiles , if no arcane missiles proc , i use arcane barrage , and over and over , if in nuke phase i will spam arcane blast when at 50% mana i use mana gem then i use evocation and then go back to 4 arcane blasts , 1 arcane missiles (if no proc) i arcane barrage

ur gonna want to do more burn damage and stack more like 7 arcane blast, especially with mage armor, if ur using fire armor for crit then u conserve mana, no need to conserve mana that much man

once you get 4 stacks of arcane blast. It cancels off when using another arcane spell other than arcane blast or Explosion, It only affects Explosion and blast, not missles. Basically reach 4 stacks then use Missles and arcane barrage or w.e then repeat.

@maggru91 when you are 85 you benefit from mastery which any gets mastery from gear and gems n stuff , at 84 and below your mastery if very high. therefor you should generally do alot of dps

I would say that you were doing a good 20-30% less damage than you should if playing properly.

The proper arcane rotation does not include using 4xAB in conservation phase. You should pretty much never drop below 85% in the conservation phase, and you should definitely start your second burn phase at full mana, not 70%

Also, AP and PoM can't be activated at the same time so your macro and hence you did never use PoM.

and as for you nuke phase...i normally nuke down to 35% or so then evocate back up to 100% and then starting recovery phase until evocate is on like a 20 second mark

aslo mike as an arcane mage you can get away with around 16% hit...the more mastery and int you have the more dps you will pull in the proper rotation...also you don't need to use your mana gem right on your nuke...normally you want to save it until you get an int proc...as in a weapon or darkmoon card volcano...that will cause you to gem to over your normal maximum mana and then when casting AB you are getting them at the cost of no mana...in theroy
