OO ellun. That's how to pronounce it. The ocean does freeze. Crossings are relatively common, but it's hard to predict when the route will be solid all the way. Forget a vehicle. Dogs and a sled maybe. If you want a vehicle let me recommend the excellent deHavilland Twin Otter. Made in Canada for operation in cold temperatures. In the summer any old boat will make it. Best bet is find a nice Eskimo girl (Inuit in Canadian) and she can help you with life in the Arctic.
