Anyone who hasn't downloaded this game is missing out! A lot has changed since the release of Fortress Forever and although we're a relatively small community, more and more people are playing every day! No longer do you need to buy a HL2 game to play FF since the Source SDK Base required to play FF comes with TF2 for FREE! So go download TF2 if you don't have a HL2 game(such as HL2DM, CS:S, DOD:S) and head over to the Fortress Forever website and check this game out!

I know I'll get flamed for this, but there really is little team coordination in pub games, reminds me of UT, just run in and kill.

Like it makes things easier for me as a spy since the teams don't do regular spy checks.

LoL, don't even pretend there is more team play in TF2! "Medic has ubercharge" - yeah, and it sucks to play medic in TF2, so much indeed that Valve is about to release BOTS (!) who will do the job.

In fact most TF2 pub player can learn a lot about team play from those bots.

I'm not saying TF2 is a bad game, I love it very much! But I love both games, FF and TF2.

Even though I dont actually own FF, I had the first team fortress.

This looks quite fun and impressive for a mod too. It takes all the good stuff from the original and makes it better, the only thing I think wrong in the game is how over-powered to spy looks.

TF2 looks good too, It tries something new and makes the graphics looks amazing and its easy to tell different characters apart.

But the lack of some decent maps can get annoying.

Overall, the two games are equal in scores to me.

The characters need work. They all move at the same speed (too fast) and their silhouettes don't read properly at any distance. As such, I couldn't tell what class what each player was. Then again, maybe its all the FOVs fault.

Damn, the speed difference is huge between FF and TF2. With the heavy you can just run around and shoot fast...you can play this like Quake with the "slow" guy. TF2's definitely better balanced, classes feel very different and the look and animations are much better, although the weapons here look nice too, but too "typical" of an FPS. Too bad TF2 came out and stole FF's thunder.

Its been said many times before, and I guess it will have to be said many times more, the "fisheye lens / goldfish bowl" effect is due to a client side command. The default setting looks normal. The stupid goldfish bowl effect is due to a high fov setting, which I accidently left on while recording. This could also be part of the reason as to why the HW looks like it is moving faster than normal.

In my experience hwguy gets absolutely raped by snipers.

I've had this experience because I'm the one raping them.

One full charge headshot (takes about 7 seconds to charge) will down a HWGuy in one hit. He's balanced, trust me.
