Actually its not about rhythm, the secret is to push the handlebars up & down to change the angle of attack of the rear blade. Which is what I didn't do.
By the way, yes I am a terrible dancer. Yawningdogs
Well you never know, what with rising sea levels & all that. Everyone might need one.
(By the way, I bought it over 3 years ago, just as you yanks were orchestrating the sub-prime meltdown and wasting zillions on an unjustified & un-winnable war/slaughter)
@yawningdogs rising sea levels my ass.... thats all bullshit just like this stupid ass product... i live and charleston like my father, grand father, great grandfather and so on... my son, grandson, great grandson will live here too.
It's good to see that people are frugal and only spend their money on necessities in these tough times...if I could buy one of these...I still wouldn't...
This obviously requires great fitness and high stamina to work, otherwise I'd think one would get tired rather quickly from the constant forced bouncing.
from the looks of the videos I have seen, your push off isn't always strong enough to get enough momentum so the hydrofoil will work and a lot of the times, your arms aren't pumping down enough, if at all, and they're not in sync with your legs. Definitely requires a good amount of coordination. Keep at it.
Another tip that I can suggest. If you have an Aquaskipper that lean a little to either the left or right, then try gently knocking with a hammer a little extra pitch to the outer 3 inches of the sinking wing's trailing edge. Be careful not to bend it too much or you'll risk adding too much drag and could snap the metal.
I've been doing some more Aquaskipping recently. The magic techniques for me now are: 1) use your arms as much as your legs. It makes a huge diference. 2) ignore the manual, lean into the turns, not against them.
Since filming this video, I've become much better. I'll post another video soon. I am now bouncing faster. The frame will naturally rise to the surface as you bounce up. My tips, don't look at the front skid look into the distance. It takes twice as much energy to perform a turn against going straight. Turns are difficult & fail without speed. Enter turns fast. A turn will increase the speed of the outer wing, but reduce the speed of the inner wing, increasing the risk of an inner wing stall.
My first attempt was discouraging until I saw how many short trips you had. I am going back out in two days to try again. I like your "look into the distance" advice. It seems you need to feel for the timing rather than watching for cues.

I think you need to be pushing your arms more forward, rather than just moving up and down.

First of all, I commend you on your perseverance. You be one tough cookie!
Second, did you ever get it going?
Third, I think you are leaning too far forward..
Fourth, I like the music - good choice.

Check out my other video, I've become better at it. In actual fact my main problem was that I wasn't pushing down with my arms. That's the trick.
