I've noticed that both Jethro Tull and Golden Earring use the flute, and use it fairly poorly. Their notes are soooo breathy and unsubstantial. I mean, the average highschooler can better sounds out of a flute than them. I really like their songs, but then that whispy flute stumbles onstage and gets in the way of stuff. They should've gotten better at the flute, or just not included it.

You'll find that Radar Love isn't even the best thing they did... if you get a chance listen to 'She Flies On Strange Wings' released in 1972 as a single, or '(Just A Little Bit Of) Peace In My Heart', which they releas in 1967 or 8, when the still called themselves The Golden EarringS.

Odd that you should mention those 2. I saw Focus and Golden Earring perform at the annual Pink Pop Festival in Holland back in the 70's and Tull live in Germany in the mid 80's! They sure made an impression on me and my fellow Americans privileged to have lived among them and partied with them and just plain rock and rolled by them! rock on GE, you are the best, ever!
