  • it would be a blast to fly this. i just love the sound of the engines

  • Thanks for posting! An unfathomable amount of work here- INCREDIBLE! I remember poking around the corners of the Curtiss Museum as a kid- was it at the old library on Sheather Street?- and sitting in the "Oriole" there. Eventually, I think someone put their foot through the wing, yikes! Had to have been over 30 years ago. Also recall Mercury building the June Bug replica and flying it in '76.

  • really nice sound, good to hear what this plane sounded like in 1914. This is nice built to exact specifications like the 1914 original. Too bad Curtiss couldn't give it an Atlantic attempt in 1914, it might have been crossed when Lindbergh was still a juvenile. Nice vid!

  • What a lovely looking [and sounding] aircraft , great vid mate .

  • Did you notice the change in sound as it dropped into the water at 2:32.

  • Sweet video! Thanks for posting. I wonder what single engine performance would be like?

  • The great reward to years of very hard work....way to go guys !!!!!

  • Forest, thank you for your service in Nam. Why did you disable your ratings? By the way I am very happy with this video, it's history now and I don't profit from it. It's not straight up advertising like posting your video here.

    Don

  • This video gives a full explanation "Seaplane America Clips 2007/2008" copy and paste the words into the youtube search box.

  • Great Event & a great plane! Kudos to all who had a hand in bringing this to life. I do have to agree though, an event this grand mandates the need of a tri-pod. If you can run a camera, a tri-pod is easy.

  • Blake, Thanks for your comment, the focus is on the airplane. If you can run a camera on a tri-pod in a rocking boat with other photographers at 120x zoom? LOL if you read my youtube bio I really am a simpleton who needs to quit drinking. I asked the Curtiss Museum for $500,000 to set up cameras just like they do for a F1 race and damn they turned me down, so you are stuck with my hand held Sony camcorder and my decision to not edit the shakey parts out. Freebies leave you wanting more, sorry.

  • Incredible flight, the video, however, it terrible. I could barely stand to watch it due to the shaking. Angelica, if you can't manage a tripod I suggest you find another hobby.

  • "smplyamsed" you should change your name to "pickyaboutfreebes". I will remove the video when someone else puts up a better one. click on "angelica14709"

  • Cool plane.

  • This is awesome! My Dad, Sergio is the best! :]

  • Wow, that's amazing! I'll have to pop in there and see it the next time I'm upstate. The videographer could've used a tripod though! I was getting a little sea sick there for a while.

  • Thanks for the comment and sorry about your motion sickness. I have tried tripods monopods stablizers they all have their drawbacks. The gyro stabilizer is the best but far to heavy for me. I could have cut out the unstable part so you only see take off and landing to give you a pretty video. I chose to put up the whole video as the flight time for this aircraft is very limited because it will return to the museum floor.

Check out the still photos, address at the right of the video.
