Im a 13 year old kid and i want a racket which can give depth and power. i play with a lots of spin. which racquet would recommend for me the aero line or the pure drive line.
Im 12 years old and ranked third in my county/state and a defensive baseliner who like to come to the net of short balls. Im looking for a new stick and want a racket to give me great depth and power. I am stuck between the babolat pure drive the wilson pro staff 6.1 100 blx and the juice100 blx. I use the old six one team blx i love it
Is it more worth it to buy the older pure drive (blue and white) for cheaper ($175) or buy the new one full price? I have been demoing the older version for a while now and have gotten quite used to its feel. I am looking to buy two racquets btw
It really depends which one you like the feel of more. If you've been demoing the older one, then I suggest you take the new one out for a spin and see if you notice/like any differences.
Regardless of what the any company's webpage says, we always measure our own specs here at TW. We find this to be a more accurate reading as sometimes the webpages state the goal they wanted to reach, and not necessarily the actual spec of the racquet off the production line. We try to do an average of several racquets to also increase accuracy. Whatever we have on the TW website is what we have measured to be most accurate.
That's great and TW is really professional. 4 pt vs 7 pt and 5 pt vs 9 pt HL are great differences and it is perfect to have these figures measured rather than a design parameter. Thanks!
The main thing to note is that they are really similar in specs, but the Aero racquets have the shaft design on the beam that makes it go through the air faster. It's really subjective, every person will like a different one more.
Nope, not just a new paintjob! The Cortex Active Technology is exclusive to the 2012 Pure Drive, giving more comfort and feel. Check out our website for specs and more details!
I'm a counterpuncher who used to hit really weak shots, so I rely on the power and spin of my Babolat Pure Drive 107 GT. After some very intense training with my coach, my shots are always long despite of the top spin I'm applying. My coach said that I might need a heavier racket. I'm just wondering if this is a good transition from Pure Drive 107 GT to Pure Drive 2012.
The Pure Drive 2012 will offer more control than the racquet you are using. However, be aware that heavier racquets will provide more power on a longer swing. Weight is the number one factor in getting power from a racquet on a full swing. Using a poly or co-poly string like Babolat RPM Blast will hel you get lots of control and even more spin.
Believe me Brit is far from beeing Top 100, i played some Female Player in Austria, she´s ranked 1050 WTA, and i beat her 76 in a set, she´s in the same class like Brit is.
I mean no offence, but when Tiffany plays with low powered rackets around 95sq" in these play tests she looks pretty vulnerable at times to get overpowered but with this new Pure Drive her shots are much deeper and it looks much harder to attack her game than in many other play tests. Kudos.
looks like an awesome racket. How would you guys compare this racket to the Head Youtek IG Prestige Mid? I have recently bought the Prestige and i would like to hear your opinion on the like-ness since my previous racket was the pure drive. thanks
@TOMGT507,
The Pure Drive Lite or the Pure Drive Oversize would be good ones to try next.

@tenniswarehouse
In Babolat webpage, it stated to be 4pt HL balance but in TW it is stated as 7pt HL.
Would you verify which one is correct? ( Also 5 pt HL VS 9 pt HL for the Roddick PD) Thanks.

What's new on this racquet? Is it just a new paintjob? Did they actually input a new technology in the racquet as well?

@tenniswarehouse Thank you, Tenniswarehouse. And RPM Blast is my string of choice even when I was still playing with Prince rackets.

A question.What strings did the playtest team used in this video?Thanks

Just a quick question. Did you guys find this racquet had more control and power then the aeropro drive GT?

@TheCrosby8,
The level of power and control is very, very similar between the two.

@jghstennisteam2 what would you describe the mid as? is it difficult to play with with the small 93 sq inch head and 12 oz weight?
violinist2550 1 month ago
@violinist2550 i have bought the previous mid and it is nothing like the previous pure drive i used to have.
