The Philippine Economy before was good.. there were no slums. in 1930s the Philippine Airlines took on skies the first in Asia in 1940 Japs invaded us but thanks to US help we defeated them more faster.. in 1950s Philippines joined Korean war sending 7000 troops and 1000 to cross the border to DPRK.. In 1960s Philippines was in very good condition.. people have jobs. until freaking dictator Markcost(Marcos came) AND now those glorious days are gone T_T
In 1960s the Philippine govt bought 22 F-5As and 4 F-5Bs and lots of Military equipment making the Philippines one of the strongest in SE Asia together with Vietnam.. But unfortunately when freaking Markcost Marcos.. came.. The economy slowed down the yearly budget was stolen $36 billion gone in an instant BAMM! and total of more than $60 B all in all.. So that means.. We could have been having GDP/capita of $10,000 CRAP!
Markcost(MArcos) Came in 1955 anyways.. After one of the best Philippine president died on the Airplaine crash.. All the president since 1930s to 1955 were the only good one we had.. everything after that was CRAP! Thats why after Philippine helping South Korea in war.. South Korea in a click suddenly overtaked our worn out horse carts (CALESA) And SARAO JEEP with their HYUNDAI CARS speeding more than 160km/hr in 1960s and 70s.. We dont even have a car that time!

Before Fernando Magallanes landed in what is the Phillipines now, the archephilago's name was Maharlika. The "sailor" claimed it for Spain and named it "Las Islas Filipinas" to the glory of the king of Spain, King Philipp.

Britain occupied MANILA, from 1762-1764 as a result of the Seven Years' War, local Filipino and Spanish Forces held them in Manila and protected the rest of country.. thats why there is Indian features in Cainta residents, since the british-allied Indian Reinforcements chose to stay in the area.. great Video BTW.. :)

The indigenes tribes of the Philippines were fighting each other long before Magellan just like they still are today. NPA, Abusayaf, MILF and various other factions. It is one of the most wonderful places I have ever been and I married a Philipina but the government does its people an injustice.

the british did not get involved but they had been to the philippines once, only a small contingent.Can't remember exactly why they are there before but from what i recall from history, they were there to fight spain. I could be wrong, i cant remember anymore.

The British invaded the Philippines in 1762. It was part of The Seven Years War involving several European countries with England on one side, and Spain on the other. Spain set a temporary capital in Bacolor. England ceded the Philippines back to Spain under the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The Brits left Manila in 1764, but retained the Sulu Islands until they were removed by force around 1773.
