  • usa wasted millions vor a pen that dint freez in the space

what did the russian they brought a pencil

you can see wo of the two were smarter

  • @outskool100 Do people still actually believe this? The "Space Pen" was developed by an independent party, and afterward both sides used it.

  • The earth floats expanses Round the Sun keeps his usual way, And we live, humans, daring dream Throughout the Solar System walk someday. Commander, the son of the earth, great guy, Astronauts and scientists will take on Pluto. No, not in vain been the first in space, Gagarin, For the coming of a hero.

  • Cosmic miracle machines Explore Venus and the Moon, And if necessary, and we take off, guys, We lift in outer space any new ground. Commander, combat brave guy Since the crew will go to Mercury and Mars. No, not in vain been the first in space, Gagarin, He opened a new road for us.

  • Here is the text in english:

We are flying away into space to work, Docking to the orbiting ships And everything starts from the first flight, Gagarin's first turn around the Earth. Commander, bright-eyed Russian guy He smiles his whole universe presented. No, not in vain been the first in space, Gagarin, It is for us the new road was opened.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we want to fly to space?

    (2) Why do we like spacecrafts?

    (3) What does motive and encourage us to continuously design and improve space travel mechine?

    (4) Why do we want to live in space and to go for sapce holiday in the future? (eg. we has already built an International Space Station)

    (5) Why do we relate aerospace techology with USA more than USSR?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas!!! :)

  • Very cool song, quite lighthearted for the time.

  • @zuperhamster go to sovMusic.ru, type in gagarin, and click "text" on the song titled "gagarin march" then copy the Cyrillic, and paste it into google translate... simple.

  • It actually sounds very good, and I like the voice. I wish I knew what the lyrics tell about Russia's Major Tom. I guess it's an enthousiastic elogy to the USSR's hero. Still, there seems to be lots of controversy about whether he was the first visitor in space. The USA beaten a 2nd time after Sputnik... ? Some say the first man in space was Josef Kittinger with his balloon, others say Piotr Dolgon, and there are yet other conspiracy theories, which are maybe completely or partially true.

  • @Zuperhamster There is no such actual debate beyond what the americans like to say in forums and some books. The highest Kittinger went up was 32 km. While Vostok went up 327 km in its apogee, and 169 km in perigee. The difference is huge. In the outer space It was definitely Yuri the first.

  • I've never heard any serious contrary allegations proposed and wholly disregard the ones that are, among us Americans learned in the subject there's really no serious debate either.

  • @Tyrannobeast Just last week, I was sending messages to a number of my americans friends and acquaintances about the movie First Orbit for this 12th. I was rather surprised to find so few of them even knowing the name Yuri Gagarin.. only 1 out of the 21 people. Then I did a little bit of research online about this trend and realized most americans don't know about this at all or are under the impression that it was Kittinger.

  • @Tyrannobeast and not only that, they are vehement about letting their opinions known forcefully on forums and discussions, most of the time turning the discussion into outright 'commie bashing' in the most bizarre ways. This was farther confirmed when I expressed my amazement on this to an american friend, and her comments in return that achievements in space exploration done by some entity outside of the US tend to be either glossed over or undermined in the education system there.

  • @KOGR11 1 out of 21? I wore a Yuri Gagarin shirt to school and I had lots of people recognize what the occasion was. Sorry your friends are so oblivious.

Despite that, even here in the U.S. I heard someone say that Neil Armstrong was the first man in space, which prompted me to start making sputtering noises.

But in our history books, the Soviet Union got the entire one sentence on space history, the U.S. didn't get anything at all, so I guess it got somewhat evened out.

  • @Tyrannobeast Lucky for you then. still the fact remains majority of americans have no idea who Yuri gagarin is because of cold war mentality to gloss over such facts. While I could ask a student in india and he can give me a healthy account of acheivements from both sides USSr and USA,.
