  • I have this movie. In a scene Wayne tells his son that he flies a F4F Wildcat, but the planes they fly are F6F Hellcats. In some scenes they are even F4U Corsairs. That's because when this movie was made, there weren't much Wildcats still around.

  • A lot of WWII vets see John Wayne as basically a draft dodger who was more interested in making a fortune in Hollywood than serving in the trenches, even if several famous starts did enlist. After the war the veterans were bitter about seeing him play the roles of a war hero.

  • @monsterzeroJr What WWII vets?? I have worked at a Veterans Hospital for almost 30 years now and have yet to hear a single vet (WWII or otherwise) complain about John Wayne. In fact, they love him and his movies has always been their favorite. I am a combate veteran myself and was greatly inspired by Wayne.

  • @monsterzeroJr John Wayne contributed much more to the war effort by making patriotic movies that rallied the troops than he could have by going off to the front. You troll these John Wayne clips and bleet sheep-like what you have been spoon feed by anti-American liberal socialists who aim to destroy whats great about America.

  • When's the blu-ray version coming out?

  • 1:17 Nowdays they give you ticket for having all those people in your car without a seatbelt. Probably put you in jail too. Especially for not having a baby seat for the toddler.

  • I'm always amazed of the footage at 0:31 . Total destruction.
