The horse was trying to show the alpaca who's boss. However, he clearly didn't realise that the alpaca is a highly evolved animal, practically a God. He simply won't tolerate such behaviour. To be honest, the horse is lucky to be in the same field as the alpaca, never mind so close to him. Anyway, he's learnt a lesson - and been chastised by a God.

You can make quite a profit on them though, they usually can have 1 cria per year and their fiber can sell for quite a bit, so the money you spend to buy them will be recovered fairly quickly depending on how many you have though :/
