  • Guys on choppers circa 1965 (like something from Danny Lyons' b/w photo expose', The Bike Riders). This is king tone, baby.

  • Jimmy Page - rhythm guitar

  • Gem.

Sounds rockabily but it isn't. I always see neo-rockabilly bands playing this.

This is blues similar to John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf/Hubert Sumlin, and Sonnyboy Williamson.

  • thats one groovy tune

  • Anyone know how to play the harp bit in this song? I know its different to the one for the classic blue version

  • This is for twats who think Van couldn't rock. He could, and sung the blues so well as a youth. As he matured, he got more laid back but became a better technical and emotive singer. But his raw early enthusiasm is almost like a different guy to hear. That and he was only 19.

  • "In most cultures it is forbidden for ordinary persons to own or handle spirit objects. Too dangerous. The priest intervene for our own protection They confiscate all evidence of spirit's omnipresence, or cloud our minds so we won't perceive it. But ours is a time of transition, and some things slip through the cracks"...... So true, this and Gloria are infused with spirit. Thanks Van.

  • I feel like truly vintage clips of any performer are PRICELESS and I just want to thank you for sharing this with the world- thank you!

  • "Baby, Please Don't Go" is a blues song first recorded by Big Joe Williams in 1935. It is related to a group of early 20th century blues and work songs that include "I'm Alabama Bound", "Another Man Done Gone", and "Don't Leave Me Here", and "Turn Your Lamp Down Low".

  • Original? This song goes back to 1935.
