@patsaxon- It wasn't as if I had planned this video. I was driving along and there's this abandoned building along the side of the road. If the wind noise is too annoying, can't you simply mute the volume?
How do you get these people to see how far off base they are....Its not about how fancy or impressive the church is. That abandoned Church is was paid for out of donations from working people I am sure.
Mega churches = mega nonsense. Even joel osteen's *church* has a lot of KOOKY things going on there,,Joel has somethings to say, I agree, milk is OK for some beginners,,not after 1 year as a follower of Christ.
Strange how these *wolves* can find enough goats to build, finance a big building.and the *elders* can live a luxurious lifestyle.
This building now is one of the most beautiful convention halls in Southern Ohio. It is now called the Red Barn Convention Center. Thanks to the Cantrell family for bringing this building back to life and the continued music festivals that have showed much success! Richard
I need to say this. The building has been bought by the cantrell family and it was a curch, ran out of money now houses the red barn convention center
Did you ever get to go into the place before it got finished? I always wondered what it looked like inside. And I always heard that the preacher ran away with a lot of money but that could just be rumors in adams county.
the just finished this building but its not going to be a church anymore its going to be some kind of recreational center i think thats hwo u spell it
Yup, I noticed my last time through the area that it had been completed, after a lengthy delay. I didn't know that it was NOT completed as a church, but, it makes sense, as the completed building looks too plain to be a church.
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!
They really fought hard to keep those religious tablets in front of those schools! There is just a hilarious irony to that story. They call the midwest the "HEARTLAND OF AMERICA", yet these people completely disregarded the one of our most precious rules. They tried to mix government and religion. That is a big no no. Oh well, at least they learned what the Ohio supreme court thinks about that. Go DEMOCRACY!
That is one of many, many, many churches in Adams County. The Sandlin family started construction on it some years back along with the congregation. This is a very religious community that is not unlike quite a few other rural communities in Ohio and abroad. I respect the beliefs of these people but I can tell you from growing up there that they will cram all of those beliefs right down your throat if you are not careful. I remember when they fought a huge court battle over the ten commandments.
Interesting. One YouTuber with a user ID of bobbysandlin made a couple comments on this video, months ago. He seemed quite upset that I had made the video.
This is hilarious. I knew Bobby from High School days. He's a great drummer, and I think he was in that churches praise band. Anyway, the church was strange, really strange. Lot's of "healing" (I don't believe it was really happening) lot's of speaking in tongues, just really strange stuff. They started that church with a small amount of money saying that God was going to help them raise the rest of the money. I guess God didn't agree with their plan, or church. Anyway great video!
another thing that is sad is some big churches that have been in community for years up root thier church to the country club area because the neighborhood became too bad. (poor people.....etc that is sad)
its kind of a touchy subject i mean that church represents a dream that came crashing down in our faces and my family went crazy tryin to fight it and keep it goin ....and i am sorry i sounded soo rude
If you know why it wasn't finished, tell us. Otherwise, let us wonder & worry about all the posibilities, true or untrue, as to why it didn't get finished.
Yeah, wish I had footage of the brick factory on Fredrick Road in South Webster, where I played as a kid. It's still there, but was renovated into a home....can you imagine? When I drive by, I still see the machinery and the 'i was here' scribbles everywhere.
you crack me up do you have any clue as to why this wasn't finished .....the bank pulled the funding from this and it caused my family sooo much grief and a 7 year court battle just a word of warning if you go near it the town police will probably take you to jail they have done it to several people already
Far out! Thanks for posting! Abandoned factories, labs, commercial or institutional structures are always the most fun to explore/play around in. Never seen an abandoned megachurch, though.
I've loved exploring old factories. There used to be an old steel mill and foundry in New Boston, Ohio (very close to Portsmouth, Ohio) that I'd often explore in the 80's & 90's. No vids of it, tho... it was pre-digital vid era!
Portsmouth, Ohio (actually, New Boston, Oh) used to have an abandoned steel mill nearby which I had explored years ago. I did make videos, but they are on VHS tape, and I have not made digital vids to put on YouTube. Actually, I cannot find the tapes. :-(
Drive along any country road and you will no doubt pass a few old buildings or old abandoned houses.
When doing any out side video, you need a wind screen for your microphone as there is too much wind noise.

Why do people make such efforts to complain?

Hmmm...reminds me of an incident in the old Testament.
For some reason, I was thinking of the Tower of Babel. The parallels and irony is rather amusing.

It looks as though construction has recently resumed on the building where it was postponed long ago.

This building represents the barreness of the American Church. May it stand empty as a living reminder that we are living in Laodicea.
