This magnificent composition was performed as the Prelude to my wedding in 1972 at Springfield, Ill., First United Methodist Church. Paul Koch, the organist, started after we all were seated. This was a dramatic and exalting way to start the ceremony, and was my idea. The memory of the final exhilarating chord of this organ masterpiece echoing around in that old sanctuary has lasted for decades. Too bad the marriage didn't. Kudos to the young lady at the organ console here - great job.
