CSS and most source engine games are soooo CPU based opposed to GPU. I have a 4650 with 2 GBs of ram and only a 2.2GHZ CELERON!! i get 30-50 fps on CSS witch at the same settings is what i get in MW2 and and L4D

Probably not, because you could probably get just about the same performance out of a cheaper card due to your lower resolution... This card would work better on a 21-26 inch screen.

Yeah, but these higher GPU/Memory cards are meant for larger resolutions, and vertical sync is..

The frame your computer it producing will wait for the vertical refresh of your monitor (Typically 60 or 75.).

I suppose since this IS a mid-range card it would be a good choice if you like eye candy on your 17 inch display. And as for what game your playing, it doesn't really matter, same dynamics apply to every game. The larger (more VRAM) cards are meant for the larger displays.

And along with V-sync, I like to have it on because it limits the "Tearing" of your frames. But if you like un-noticeable frame rates (higher then your screen displays) Then don't turn it on. But if you want to be able to see every frame your computer is displaying, turn it on.
