from a real life girl: ballroom dancing doesn't make you gay, it makes you seem sophisticated and respectful and girls really like sophisticated and respectful. male dancers are a step ahead of 'the competition' thanks to ballroom dancing. for me, no matter how macho a guy is or how much 'swagger' he has I'd go for a ballroom dancer first and foremost.

I've seen a tradie who wanted to take ballroom dancing classes with his fiance for his wedding but ended up quitting because his workmates teased him too much.

Im a girl in the competitive ballroom dancing world and here the truth: a few guys are gay, yes. Most guys however meet an enormous amount of (often) very good looking girls. There is a guy in the top levels who picks his comp partners just to sleep with them. How GAY.

pocofifi, or whatever your username is, i'm a ballroom dancer and I find that quite offensive. Kids dancing does not reflect sexual personality at all. Ballroom dancing is a great sport and it's NOT creepy. I'm sure that many other children who do ballroom dancing would agree with me. And I do know many ballroom dancers. We all back each other.

And my opinion is that i don't like it, i don't like the thought of thrusting 7 year old children in to the lime light caked in make up and dancing dances like the tango, which are very sexual dances. No, no, no. If someone puts youth/adult level coreography to children it would be absolutely horrible. However, juvenile dancers do almost only basic figures which have zero sexual innuendos whatsoever. If you can add sexual passion into basic figure then you have to be an extremely accomplished as a dancer. (i.e. Carmen Vincelj).
