In truth your ego is enforced by those around you based on a habit we all have of painting a picture to someone else that we are not even that sure is us.

When the other person meets you they are meeting your ego, then they reinforce your ego via the interaction with it, and you do the same to them.

Its a repetitive wheel of ego enforcement from one person to another. To judge someone with emotion will only give rise to more ego. The ego controls emotions. Emotion then controls us.

Most of what you say makes sense to me. I don't view God as a man in the sky but it's hard to grasp the concept that there is no point for life on Earth. Is that what you guys are saying? So there are no lessons to be learned in the human body? Do you not believe in life being a test? Why are we in human form now? Where do these concepts originate from? I thought I was getting this but now I am confused.

A poetic way of expressing this is to say that the world is a dream of God's extension (child).

We experience illusion because we are free.

The illusion is not so much 'escaped' as it is faced with Awareness and seen to not be real.

The purpose for life in form in this world is to learn.

To learn that the unreal cannot exist.

Definitive liberation defies all limitation including the limits of body/form.

The question implies duality, there is only oneness, we are light manifesting as form to create and participate in the manifest world. We are consciousness itself there is no other. Emptiness is form and form is emptiness. You are the Universe itself.

With that said, how do you know we are oneness? Don't you ever feel like part of you may be going nuts by believing in this stuff? Are animals eternal light?

dwoodall8979 - We need to be careful of words like "higher power" or "God" as words will never point to the ultimate truth. Nothing is worhtless. We are all One as everything arises from (just words again) the "stillness" or "emptiness" This is not about belief at all, it is beyond any thoughts. Everything is eternal light, you can only go "nuts" if a person is caught in thought. Quantum physics also shows nothing is solid, all is made of energy. -- Peace--

This Wonderful Truth..I never heard explained. Wow! but always knew, and believe..however, I do recognize the 2 in others that believe..cuz, this is their reality they show, not knowing if their coming or going..I too have heard many views about the Oneness. 2-faced is what some teach is Bad, or Mental yet believe in a Lower and Higher self..Never made sense to ME! I'm still learning many things..particularly, others thoughts and feelings, and sharing..Love and Light. TY for sharing~blessed b~

This is a fantastic lecture/satsang Burt! The comparison between relativiy theory and enlightenment is brilliant! You are correct that the only CONSTANT in the universe is the speed of light. Light can only be observed at one speed, 300,000,000 m/sec. The linear thinking mind believes that all motion is relative, and cannot grasp the concept of the constant nature of the speed of light. It's a concept that literally transcends the mind!
