in 1996 on the swing tour they opened with it one night and i can still remember the hairs standing up on the back of my neck. it was such a surprise because i had seen a couple of shows the week before and they opened with want. this night was the first time they opened with plainsong that tour. 15 years later and i can still remember it like it was yesterday.

This always makes me think of one of the saddest photographs I've ever seen, by André Kertész.

A very simple black and white picture of his bedroom, which doesn't look like much with a double bed half undone half neatly made.

Incredible song by one of the greatest bands of all time. "Disintegration" has always been my favorite album by The Cure. It's one of the albums that got me through those dark and turbulent teen years. It's hard to say what life would have been like had it not been graced by their music. Absolutely astonishing stuff.
