I am an adult learning math 30 pure on my own, and your videos are extremely helpful. I am working full time so I can't upgrade in a class room and the online courses are too expensive. okay so the divisor is x-2 but what if it was 2x-2 or 3x-2? if the coefficient wasn't 1? thanks.

@lisahill619 if the divisor is 3x-2, then you take the constant (2) and divide it by x's coefficient (3). Obviously you still need to use the opposite of that, So in the end, your number is -2/3. :)

during synthetic division, when you're putting the coefficients in the box thing, do you skip the zeros that you fill in? such as x^3 and x and 1. do you put 0x^2 in the box?

at 5:32, when you did "let x = 2"

the answer worked out to be 2, which is the same as the remainder

but if oyu do it with 3 (as in let x = 3) the answer would be 14, which is different to the remainder.

is that supposed to happen?
