oh, I know where Carmen Sandiego is, alright... IN THAT FLAXEN HAIRD, MULLETED LOTHARIO'S PANTS! i fucked all four of those guys, and, lemme tell you, the braided one had me hittin' a high C when i had the big O! yeah, mmm, such succulent memories. they really were prime pieces of ass back in their day...
@jasonismyhomie shit you know it! back in the day as a fresh faced media student i found myself as an intern runner on many a Nickelodeon show, and this is the story of my loss of innocence. Rockapella weren't the kid friendly pop vocal combo they looked. the braided haired one in particular. he had me organizing midget gangbangs and setting up hotel rooms for his sordid fun. He was an asshole! I was just a kid and had no idea where to find small people hookers but i learnt fast and tough.
@harveyderf are you Bernadette? i dealt with you! i'd hit the skids, courtesy of the school of hard knocks, & found myself working as an escort to pay my way thru college... needless to say, i'm freakishly petite & had what you'd call a very DISCERNING clientele base. Braidy could be roughish, even slovenly at times, but he was a true gentleman at heart & appreciated the finer things (in the sack)! oh, i gave him his $ worth, and he kept me singin' hallelujah! I miss those days...and that peen.
@jasonismyhomie it is me Bernadette! Is that you Sue? Braidy's fav 'lil piece o pie' as he called you?I never thought I'd meet you on the pube! I guess one can say Braidy was a walking contradiction. A gentleman & a thug, a lover & a taker, call him mr raider, call him mr wrong, call him insane. Though i only ever saw the ugly side of his perversion that made him mean. I remember one day I just couldn't find any small people and he FLIPPED! It's what made me turn my back on the business.
@harveyderf You know, I heard Culture Beat penned their seminal hit 'Mr. Raider' with Braidy as their muse! Tania, their singer, had a torrid and, ultimately, devastating fling with the B-meister, leading her to write the most complex, haunting, and provocative lyrics ever committed to a bangin' beat! Braidy was quite the party monster in his youth, and was besties with Michael Alig and James St. James. Together, they wrecked havock on early 90's NYC in blur of drug fueled and hedonistic nights!
@jasonismyhomie ah yes yes Braidy was one of those seminally influential characters of the party monster scene in the early 90s. Not since Warhols factory had we seen suchfusion between freaks, weridos, midgets, ass burgers & artists. He had that entire scene revolve around him.Indeed he had songs immortalize his bad boy midget loving image & the life he lead. His story has become folklore. A legend to pass on to your party monster kids. Like 'yeah i fucked midgets and did drugs with braidy'
@harveyderf It was an oddly harmonious time - within that scene's chaos, there was a synergy that melded these strange & glorious freaks in the most poetic fashion! It was an honor to even be on the fringes! I heard some poser once brag about smoking crack with Macauley Culkin, & I simply had to laugh such blasphemy away. See, I'm a vet of the C. De Burgh scene, which proved to be a natural precursor to the 90's club cult. I've seen things I can't unsee, but, God, there was such vital beauty too
@jasonismyhomie its a time and energy we wont see again. such things only come once ina lifetime like a total solar eclipse of the arsehole. the party monster scene, the people and music were PHENOMENAL! God Culkin was such a lil bizotch! That lil twat thought he was hot shit running around the clubs, smoking crack, and divorcing his parents inna da 90s. He & his entourage annoyed the fuck out of the real party monsters like Braidy. Wow youve got hardcore scene cred! C 2 da BURGH!! RESPEK!
@harveyderf I think Culkin was obsessively jealous of hunky Braidy - not only of his sultry dark looks but of how he became the unofficial pied piper of the scene! The freaks and krunks just LOVED him. I was in the chill out room at Limelight once, & B-Boy has us all MESMERIZED with his trippy acapella jams! Someone said 'dude, you ROCKapella' and, thus, a LEGEND was born! Id could have been all the K I was on (TRIPPIN FACE!), but his sick beats knocked them superstar DJs FLAT on their asses!
@jasonismyhomie WOW just WOW. I can't believe I'm actually talking to one of those people that were THERE! This stuff is of sheer folklore, myth and legend! were you aware in that moment history was in the making? I'm not just talking biographical history here this was a momentous event that saw a domino effect, ripple throughout the world culminating in the fall of apartheid. The rise of Rocakpella, the fall of apartheid - coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!
@harveyderf I'M SO WITH YOU! Fall of apartheid DIRECTLY corresponded to the rise of ROCKAPELLA! See, Braidy was smart - He knew he had to tone it down to reach a mass audience - NO MORE assless chaps, no more Ketamine, no more avant garde hair (well, debatable, as those braids were FUNKAY)! but he took it HIGHER (as Creed say) by reaching the YOUTH on a kid's program. He lied about his salacious past to get the gig, but it was all for the greater good...and, furthermore, all for the MUSIC! VIVA!
LMAO! The lead guy (with the braids) always had weird hair throughout Carmen...but Scott (the blondie) looks...stranger than usual with his fluffy mullett!
Nope, it wasn't them. Just like Weird Al gets credited with lots of parodies that aren't his, Rockapella gets incorrectly credited with songs they never covered.
The song is called "the longest time", not "for the longest time" and the original song was sung by the Piano Man himself.
yep, but not in a good way. Corrupt companies like Enron will open secret Swiss accounts because it's nearly impossible for the IRS to find money hidden in account outside the country.
Although, for one of the country's cities Sean mentioned, namely Bern (the capital), he actually pronounced it wrong. It's not pronounced like the word "burn", but like the word "barren",
@joetheswimmer They were so talented and as a Billy Joel fan I liked this parody. Carmen Sandiego was a part of many of our childhoods. I had the computer games I was a fan of this show and I am a history buff probably because of that. Oh and Greg Lee as the host of this show and the voice of Mayor Robert White on Doug: I SALUTE YOU!!!
Wow. I Remember This Episode. I Think I Remember When Greg Was Squashed Underneath A Big Thing Of Something. So If Anyone Has That Clip Put It On Here.
This is the first time I remember seeing this clip! Such a witty and clever parody of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" by a great group from a great show!
What's even more amazing is that I'm pretty sure "The Longest Time" was a hit from about 1984.
Why is everyone rating my "Out of sync" comments down instead of up? I hate videos that's video/audio are out of sync and the users don't give an explanation why!
In "No Brainer," where Robocrook stole the Soviet Brain Institute, they parodied "The Brady Bunch" theme. The even performed on a 3x3 grid. Scott was right in the center, Sean on the bottom-left and top-right, Elliott on the middle-left, top-middle and bottom-right, and Barry on the top-left, bottom-middle and middle-right. When the song was over, they all looked at each other in confusion... so to speak.
ArthurVandalay44, no matter what anyone else says, your my favorite YouTuber!! :o) So long as I get to feast my eyes & ears on my favorite group of men!! haha! "Banks-Banks-Banks-Banks-Banks!" lol! That's my favorite part!

I love the Season 2 intro (the one where the Chief says the episode title on that pink book). Heck, if you feel like airing the entire episode, feel free.
