  • congratulations on winning. you earned it! enjoy your berserk DVDs.

  • Don't mind if I do!

    =)

  • GREATNESS IN A CAN!

  • I have a question, was this westernised under the name G-force?

it's been nagging at me... because i could swear i saw bird themed superheroes in an 80's anime and it looked EXACTLY like this.

That or i'll check wiki, that works too.

  • Yes it was, it was also later dubbed again as "Battle of the Planets."

All of the names of the heroes used were actually taken from the G-Force dub.

  • @Hayabusa449 Ahh... Battle of the Planets came *way* before G-Force did...

  • @Hayabusa449 Actually, "Battle of The Planets" was first (1978), and if you were a child in the '70s-'80s, that's likely the version you're remembering. The awful "G-Force: Guardians of Space" dub was unleashed upon the unsuspecting populace in the '90s.

  • @kittenmommy no, G-Force was in 1986. Eagle Riders was then done in 1996, which was a westernisation of the Gatchaman II series.

  • Congrats on winning!

  • congrats man : D

  • you gonna make more? If so, I'm subscribing.

  • We're continuing NightWalker for at least one more episode, but I do intend to do further Gatchaman abridgements in the near future!

  • WOO! XDDD Send this to adult Swim man! You are epic! xDDD

  • Congrats on winning ^^

  • you won man!

  • Gz on winnin the contest!

  • You should make a joke of Jinpei stuttering as a reference to Keyopi from Battle of the Planets.

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't watched the Battle of the Planets version in years, and after taking a quick look at part of an episode just now... oh man, I'm just going to HAVE to fit that in there somehow...

  • Too funny!

  • Really? Damn, I guess we'll have to tone down the funny for future episodes... thanks for the feedback!

  • lol

  • I thought this was great...and I hope you plan to do more Gatchaman spoofs! The Battle of the Planets version (with the annoying robot, 7-Zark-7) would be fun, too!

  • Thanks man, that is the plan at the moment! A friend of mine and I plan on doing the series right! Twice the guys, half the talent!

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, although we called it Gatchaman, we actually used all of the G-Force names (and we're calling Bert Katse (the guy singing "I feel so pretty") his Battle of The Planets name- Zoltar). Why? It's funnier!

I still can't believe people actually find this funny....

  • I'd suggest taking more care in keeping the audio level all around. I had to turn my speakers up all the way to hear the voices, and then quickly turn them down when the music came up.

Also, it might help to lay off the cursing. It seemed somewhat generic.

Despite this, I see great potential here. And you're right. It DOES pick up much more when they get to the cave. Especially the line just before the Buddha heads attack.

  • The audio levels seem fine when I play it on my comp, but I'll make sure to look into it.

And I have to agree with you on the cursing, which is what's great about doing this "test pilot" episode for the series I plan on actually doing- learning about what works and doesn't!

And thanks for the comments man, here's hoping we can build on that potential!

BTW, Your Gargoyles Abridged was one of the best entries in the contest. Good luck!

  • Hey, the worst thing a person can do is let "mistakes" or mishaps get them down. Learn from what went wrong, and make them better next time, simple as that.

And thank you. I worked hard on my entry, which thankfully is something you can understand as well as anyone.

Best of luck to us both!

  • I enjoyed this. A really good anime pick!

  • I won't lie. There were a couple of slow bits, but that's true of almost every entry in the contest. That's the whole thing with "an episode in a week".

Still, people tend to be their own biggest critic, and I think that's the case here. This was a solid episode overall. So, I wouldn't nitpick it too much.

Believe me, I see problems with my own videos that no one else picks up on either.

  • Nice. Good choice of an anime, and an absolutely ridiculous episode to pick.

Besides, who DOESN'T want to send the Buddha to hell?

You know... Other than Buddhists and religiously tolerant people.

  • Yeah, I just wish my abridgement was funnier. If I had planned on doing this without the week deadline, believe you me, I would probably dump most of the first half of the episode. The 2nd is golden though. For me.

Seriously, I really feel like I only started to really get a feel for the whole thing when they get to the cave.

Anyays, the plan right now is to do a better abridgement of this series itself, along with the help of a friend of mine. Fingers crossed!
